I didn't like Vohawk anyway. I hope he plays with Kobe, so he can become Kobe's Fan Club President.

"I think he proved last year that he could play for us," said Rockets coach Rick Adelman. "We'll just have to see how everything works out. We obviously know him and know what he can do off the bench, so we'll see how it plays out."
Wafer came close to signing with Memphis, but his familiarity with the Rockets' system made Houston a more desirable landing spot. And with rookie swingman Chase Budinger hobbled with a sprained right ankle and Tracy McGrady still working his way back from last season's microfracture surgery, the Rockets can use the talent infusion.

"You know what he did for us last year," Adelman said. "And the way we're trying to play, he fits in extremely well here. So it gives us a little bit more depth, and it gives us someone that we know and who had a lot of success with us last year."

It is great that the Rox and Coach A would like to re-sign Wafer. If Von does have a back and hip injury, he will get that taken care of so he can return as a Rocket. I remember him grimacing while holding his back during some of the games last year. An injury may also be a reason why Wafer was not picked up by other NBA teams, however that can be the sign of a Gritty player, much like the Houston Rockets :)

I haven't watched Harris & Dorsey play with the Vipers, however they have been Solid and have undoubtedly helped the Vipers Win and reach First Place in their western conference. If Harris has improved his mid & long range game then he may be more Valuable than expected, especially with Bud's absence. It appears that Taylor should be able to help with limited minutes and I would like to see Dorsey play or stay active in the D-League.

    Wants NBA exposure
Harris had larger offers to play in Europe or return to China. But he said he felt “out of sight, out of mind” when playing overseas and chose a return to the D-League in the hopes he would get called up.

With the Rockets, he not only picked up another stretch in the NBA, he returned to a team that he knows and knows him best. Harris played 17 games for the Rockets in the 2007-08 season, helping to key several victories in the 22-game win streak, With the Vipers, he had been running the Rockets' offense, making the transition in the first call-up since the Rockets took over the Vipers' basketball operations.

“There's less stress about learning the plays,” Harris said. “You never know what could happen. Last time this happened, I ended up getting in the first day. Here, I'm very familiar with all the offensive sets. The team I was playing on was mimicking the Rockets' plays.”

With the Rockets, he likely will be only a fill-in during emergencies. But the Rockets don't need Harris to try out.

“We know what Mike can do,” Rockets coach Rick Adelman said. “He plays hard all the time and he competes. That's really what we have to do as a team, so I think he really fits in with us. He's played a couple positions for us in the past.”
