ME after watching the pre-season game in Memphis when he made something like 7/9 threes, with a vicious driving dunk from 3-point line for take out. Ever since then I've always thought of him as a young T-Mac Lite.
I do whenever I feel like it so screw your sarcasm. By the way, as a Chinese American, I find it offensive. Should change it to "people in China".
damn take a chill pill.. i think thats the problem with society today.. everyone is so easily offended! wtf? are you really offended? what does being offended even mean? does it really bother you that much deep down inside?? just read it if you dont like what someone else is saying just simply ignore it.. i think people are so damn sensitive these days that they just claim they are offended becauses they think they are suppose to be...and i dont even see how the original post was offensive at all...
It is a litigation-prone society. Statements of being offended can potentially offer substantial financial compensations, so it is a good habit to have. J/K. As an avid NBA fan, I just dislike the stereotypical association between the word Chinese and the lack of basketball insight and objectivity.
Your attempt at sounding intelligent FAILS
Not to mention I think that was just about the worst philosophical viewpoint that you could apply to this situation..
But I digress.. Carry on
It is a legitimate question and that post may not have been meant to be sarcastic, however it would be more Respectful to have said Fans or People in China.
If the post was being sarcastic and just joking, then it should just be taken lightly. However, if the poster meant to be offensive, ignorant, nd sarcastic, then it would be offensive. Regardless, Yuisakata's response was harsh, considering that Durvasa most likely didn't mean to be offensive. Definitions of offended on the Web: # hurt or upset; # offend - pique: cause to feel resentment or indignation; # offend - transgress: act in disregard of laws, rules, contracts, or promises; "offend all laws of humanity # offend - shock: strike with disgust or revulsion; # offend - hurt: hurt the feelings of; # offending against or breaking a law or rule; # offend - To hurt the feelings of; to displease; to make angry; to insult; To be offensive to; to harm; to pain; to annoy; # Cause to feel upset, annoyed, or resentful. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...official&hs=aOs&q=define:offended&btnG=Search Ignorance is not always Bliss. Sometimes it is important for people to understand when something is offensive to others, especially if they don't realize it. Again, the post would be offensive if the poster was intentionally offensive and ignorant. Although Durvasa most likely meant to say "Chinese"- as in fans in China, "Chinese" could also mean Chinese Americans (applicable to other nationalities) However, it was a good question structured poorly, since NBA fans in China have played an increasing role in shaping the NBA, for example All Star voting... "During the 2007-08 NBA season, the three web sites combined received more than 385 million total visits. Overall, 30 per cent of all traffic to NBA.com comes from fans in Greater China." A record 1.6 billion viewers tuned into to watch NBA programming during the 2007-08 season via 51 television partners, an increase of nearly 35 per cent when compared to the previous season. http://www.onscreenasia.com/article...bacomwebsitesingreaterchina-onscreenasia.html That's a lot of NBA fans in China...
I'm sorry that I offended. I was referring to fans in China. And it wasn't meant to be a serious question -- I'm pretty sure fans don't vote for POW.
Get this kid a nickname people! - Von "The Drive" Wafer - Honor to The Glide since he always weared #22 - Von "The Don" Wafer - He seems to act like a superstar when playing
(Sorry to derail but this struck me as odd as hell) Wait a minute. Are you saying that calling a person from china chinese is insulting? You mean if someone called me japanese I should be insulted? Can somebody give me a freaking list of terms I cant' use for fear of hurting somebody's feelings? (This world is really starting to suck, and is way to sensitive. I think I'll get off now. Deckard, can we finally go back?) -
I think the league decides that, I am waiting to hear back from the email I sent them, it's worth knowing...
