It's easier to do the so-called "heavy lifting" when you have Shaq drawing so much attention for the majority of the game. Wade is the most overrated player in the game today. Rank and status is determined by success, which I find very problematic when assessing individual talents. Wade has glossy stats and plays on a contender so they consider him higher than other guys with just as good stats. I have a hard time believing that guys like Allen, Iverson, or Peirce couldn't lead Miami to the same success as Wade has. You'll point to his rookie year without Shaq, but Iverson, Allen, and Peirce led their teams to low playoff seeds also. And that's just Iverson, Allen, and Peirce. I'm not even going to get into Kobe, McGrady, and James who for some reason a good portion of the national media ranks lower than Wade.
I'll agree that Wade is a good player, but definitely not to the caliber that he's hyped up to be. He puts up great numbers but is heavily dependent on the favors of refs. Every game, there are numerous instances where he drives to the basket or spins uncontrollably only to get bailed out by the refs.
I can see why Wade's commercial is confusing to Rockets fans. It shows a player driving the lane and attacking the basket, accepting the contact and getting up again for another round. As Rockets fans, we dont see any of that these days.
