This reminds me of a trade that the bulls did a few years back... Traded Elton brand for the 2nd pick in the draft and wanted to team him with their already high draft choice (curry at 4)... They were supposed to be a Garnett and Shaq combo... we all know how that turned out...
Wade Trade To Chicago Still Alive? Jun 22, 2008 9:58 AM EST Rumors have continued to swirl that the Heat are considering sending Dwyane Wade to the Bulls for the first pick in this week's NBA Draft, plus Tyrus Thomas and Larry Hughes, according to The Boston Globe. The trade would allow Miami to draft both Derrick Rose and Michael Beasley, who have long been considered the top two prospects in this year's draft class. www.realgm.com
I doubt the Heat send Wade to the Bulls. It would be awesome if they did. But while I'm a Bulls fan and think they should select Rose, something inside of me wants to see Rose and Wade in the same backcourt. They would be so dynamic and fun to watch.
We would have to be twice as stupid as memphis, salary wise that doesn't work and we would be the laughing stock of the NBA for a good 2-3 decades
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/...-Chicago-trade-still-making-rou?urn=nba,89520 That would be a steal for the Bulls.
That would be a great trade for us if Wade was going to be fully healthy. But a bad trade if he isn't. Not going to happen.
I agree. I think at best Rose has 1/10 chance to be better than (a healthy) Wade. Beasley has a better chance (maybe 1/4 he is as good as Wade), but greater risks too. Mia should just sit tight, take Beasley or Rose, and then they will be in great shape to add top tier free agents after next season with Marion off the books. Mia could easily be the best team in the East in 2 years time by standing pat.
I think it is a pretty good trade for miami actually rose, beasley, ty, marion is a really good young core to build around
You are right, but the Heat REALLY want Rose. Very badly. I think they have a concern about how Beasley will react to NBA life.
I can't imagine they will keep Marion around unless he takes a 70% pay cut. Marion is going to lose game fast and they would be better served seeking a young max or near max FA instead of resigning him after next year. If Wade is damaged goods (perm), yes building around Rose, Beasley + young FA (heck, go for max deal for Lebron) would be a way to go. Although it sure seems Miami is trying not to take Beasley even at #2. Pretty dumb IMO. I'd build around Beasley and Wade. Could all be a Riley smokecreen to feign their interest of him--pretty convincing job if so.
