It's not that the rockets diddnt believe he could do it, it was more of them just trying to move on. More of not having to depend on mac.... A fresh start a mini rebuild if you will.
Houston will continue to be a good location for players--good facilities, generous owner, player-friendly coach, low-pressure atmosphere, and no state income tax. You think elite athletes who think they are invincible give a crap how tmac was treated? They care about money and (hopefully) the opportunity to win.
It didn't make sense to bring him back. He burned his bridge with the organization so we all knew he wasn't coming back beyond this year. Then you figure in that even in his prime he was a playoff loser so why bother? Why bring back a guy who hasn't done anything the playoffs when you're trying to develop a winning culture within a young core of players? By the way, why are any of you acting like what Wade says carries any weight? Players always stick up for other players and judging by how vague Wade was he doesn't even believe what he is saying.
He was playing pickup pall in the summer. There were video on Skillzlab or whateever the name of that website is.
This is what i've been saying all along... No matter how bad things were handled on both sides last year... You cannot take a personal vendetta to get them back are you will lose all respective on what you are trying to accomplish. The Rockets management have handled this situation very badly and it may cost them dearly in the long run.... Only time will tell.
Oh I don't know. Going far and beyond his season averages, carrying the team through offensive dry spells and creating game for him and his teammates. I think you've forgotten that pretty much every team (aside from Yao) that Tracy played with in the playoffs in his tenure here sucked. Regardless of how you feel about him, I think it's impossible to truly think that in postseason play, Tracy has been our best player since the Dream himself. But I disgress. And as I always say, if people want to call out Tracy for being a "playoff loser" and that being a reason we shouldn't sign him, the same can be said for Yao. I don't remember Yao being there to finish the series against Portland last year, I don't remember Yao being able to get defensive boards against Utah the year before that, and he certainly didn't have the output of a superstar player in the years prior.
If you think about it...even if Mcgrady hadn't announced he was going to have micro-fracture surgery the team we were going to trade him to would have made him pass a physical which he obviously wouldn't have. The trade wouldn't have gone through regardless of what Mcgrady announced. Management hoped that the team to get Mcgrady would miss that he was hurting. I don't blame Tmac for being hurt.
The organization is trying to develop and acquire talent for this season and beyond. Why would they bring him back for a final season even if he could add a few wins to the regular season total? That does absolutely nothing to make this team better beyond this season and his presence certainly would not make this team a contender. It would also take away minutes from guys who are in the Rockets' future plans. Stop the Yao comparisons. Yao puts in the time and the effort to make himself and this team as good as they can possibly be. He's a leader in the community and in the locker room. He is someone that is in the Rockets plans for the future. Why some of you keep comparing him to McGrady who has a history of not working hard and not being a good team mate is beyond me.
uh, that's common sense. u have to give him at least a month or 2 and with increasing minutes each game so he can regain his rhythm and comfort on the court. that's how you bring every star player coming back from injury. u cannot simulate real games. even if he was to be traded and start playing, he will need time to regain himself and we won't know how good he is until a month from now too.
No. What the Rockets organization did to Tmac is proving to be a bad publicity for them. You think superstars would want to sign here from what just happened? I don't think so...
