I was soooo excited to see that Busted Stuff arrived in yesterday's mail. My wife had my son give it to me as soon as I walked in the door....he said, "Daddy! Day Maff-use!!" Classic! My thoughts so far....I really like this CD, first of all. There are some spiritual elements to this CD that are more prominent than I've seen in any Dave CD. I LOVE You Never Know...fantastic song. I hear a lot of jazz influence in this version of Captain. I really like it!! If someone thinks this is p*rn music, they're just sadly mistaken! My ex-business partner came in my office one day when I was listening to Coltrane...he asked if that was p*rn music...I don't even know what to say to that! Dave's lyrics in this song are seductively subtle, as in many Dave songs. I really like this one too. On Where Are You Going?...I love Moore's stuff here...when that sax starts playing in the middle of the song it's just great! Great song... Raven is really different...a good song. Grace is Gone is good too...I can really feel the pain of this song...great stuff. Is Dave's wife named Grace by the way?? Overall i'm encouraged about the return to the really pure sound of DMB after Everyday. Good music has a way of growing on you more and more as you listen to it..I'm looking forward to that with this CD.
One of his daughter's is named Grace, I think his wife is named Ashley. I do wonder who he used to know named Grace because she's also mentioned in "When the World Ends". I'm on my 3rd listen and it keeps getting more amazing.
RM95's Girl and I are going to name one of our twin girls Grace Ann, in part because she won't let me name our boy David Matthew.
Hm, so...Was this bet official? I'm feeling real good about myself right about now. Busted stuff sold 622,000 copies in its first week, over 100,000 less CDs that Everyday sold in its first week and Busted Stuff is set to take a huge plunge in sales in its second week. Right now the numbers are showing Busted Stuff will make a %60 plus dip in sales in just its second week. Everyday had a similar drop in sales its second week as well, but the second single was one of DMB's biggest radio hits, maybe their biggest. I personally don't see any song on this CD breaking out big time on pop radio and MTV like Space Between...
