Vince is my man because i'm a titans fan 1st and texans fan 2nd, but i dont think you can blame kubiak or even casserly for this so called failure. I do think options should have been vince or mario. Bush would have never entered in the equation because look at his production people want to talk about. He has a moment or two, but he's not as good as jones-drew,maroney,or addai. I think what really put them in the bind is making the decision in March. Now the only other thing that could have been done is put the transition tag on him and see what happens, but Kubiak wanted to see for himself and he has. I think Mario despite have the foot problem has played well. He still gets doubled and chip and the defense has played well after the initial 5 weeks. They 're past the vince stage so get over it. What the team must do now is keep building the program. I really like Peterson and lynch, but i would still build a dominant unit on defense. The have the 2 hardest positions to fill at rde and cb along with the gem in the middle. Now they have to keep adding on inside at the tackle, other cb and safety. get that unti dominant and the fortunes will keep going forward. At the very least now, carr will be traded or have competition for the starting spot. Dont know if it will be sage or venpelt, but look for someone with the the west coast connection. Simms, greise, plummer, garcia, will come in and compete with Carr.
I think everyone with a brain has conceded the fact that the Texans f-ed up by passing up both VY and RB...that's pretty much accepted by Texans fans. However, it's time to move on, we don't need endless reminder of how badly we screwed up everything...it will haunt us forever, I understand, but give it up already.
yes accept it people. Texans missed out on 2 better players in RB and VY but please please move on from the debacle and cheer for Mario.
I was Vegas in last year and I told Chris Carter (Vikings great) that I thought the Texans would do well, he laughed at me in front of a crowd of hundreds. I was assuming that the Texans would draft some superstar with the #1 pick. Next time I see Chris Carter I will tell him I was wrong and that it was funny.
