It has some importance to me. The purpose of that was mainly for the people who said Bush wasn't worthy of the #1 pick unless he ran sub 4.4 times. To me that made no sense unless you are holding every prospect to this high ceiling. I know VY is fast and can run, I don't need a 40 time for that. That was my point about Bush's speed as well.

I'm mainly interested in how VY throws. If it's cold and windy they are definitely inside.

How long has he been there? If I was a prospect i would want to do everything at once instead of being inside a practice bubble all day.

Lance Zierline said that VY threw very well at the combine, and was only off on 4 throws.

Lance says VY looked amazing. Absolute precision on deep balls (50-55 yards) completing 2/3, with one dropped. He said he looked NFL average on deep crossing routes and 20 yard comebacks. But said they didn't duck any type of route. Says this should ease concerns about throwing routes. Throwing motion looked good; not dipping down or sidearm, as some claim. Footwork, throwing motion and accuracy were impressive.

Combine that with 4.57 speed. I'm betting he goes to Tennessee.

The problem is that you can't hold every prospect to the same high ceiling in terms of 40 times. VY's 40 time won't hurt is stock nearly as much as if Bush
if Bush ran a slower than expected time.

The VY factor will be how well he throws the ball, the Bush factor will be on how fast he runs the 40 and how fast his agility.

David Thomas supposedly had a good workout as well. 6-2 250lbs isn't that undersized for a TE. I really think he can be a steal somewhere in the 4th or 5th.

Yeah, he's going to have to be an H-back type like Wycheck.

I agree but I think expecting Bush to run sub 4.4 times is asking a lot. I wouldn't be excited to hear he ran a 4.49 but if he runs a 4,43 and tests well in agility drills i'm fine.

Looks like Vince threw the ball well. These posters make it sound like he has changed his throwing motion. Am I misinterpreting that or is that what's being reported?

What about Huff and Griffin? I doubt we'll pick a TE after signing Putzier. I wouldn't be suprised to see whoever takes Young pick Thomas (unless you're Tennessee and already have Troupe)

Lance said that ESPN reported times from 4.49 to 4.57. Supposedly Huff and Griffin looked great. He said that Huff would likely be taken ahead of VY. Supposedly Aaron Harris looked terrible.

i'm only getting the info from lance on 610. he said something like, "it's the same motion..but when watching it in this setting you can tell it's not side-armed or dipping down too low."

Maybe he adjusted it somewhat or it just looks different up close. How great was Huff's workout? I heard outstanding but I haven't seen anyone having VY lower then 7th to the Raiders (and that was before this workout which obviously went well) and Lance is saying that huff will likely go higher then VY. Huff may have moved into that elite 7. I wonder who falls out? Supposedly he's at cb weight too.

Lance said there was definitely a change in throwing motion, but nothing too dramatic. He said he saw the same from Carr when he was working out and that he kind of went back to the side arm during games, he expects the same thing from VY.

Griffin supposedly had a great workout. I hope the Texans use one of the 3rd Rounders on him if he is available.

Huff supposedly had a mediocre workout, Lance said he dropped a couple of balls during some drills. Huff has lost 10lbs since the combine, 205 down to 195. Probably lost the weight to gain speed since most are projecting him to be a CB rather than a S. Ironically, Griffin is being projected a S rather than a CB where he played in college. Huff had a good enough workout at the combine IMO, 3rd fastest 40 time IIRC?

Like you said, Harris supposedly was terrible (not suprised). J. Scott showed some quickness and good feet, I think Lance mentioned something about the Texans looking very closely at J. Scott during his workouts and said he could be a good fit.

But it sounds like D. Thomas had the best workout today (not suprised), the guy is a workhorse and I think he'll be a good TE in the league. Doubt we'll take him since we have a plethora of TEs right now. But I still think he could be a steal somewhere in the 4th or 5th.

the titans are bringing their WR's for the workout with VY tomorrow. is that typical???

one scout said if you brought delhomme out here today, VY would look better. he said, "show me one tape where VY looked panicked or didn't show poise." and he drew the comparison to vick to show why VY was different...because there was lots of tape where vick looked like he lost his poise, apparently. again, that's what the scout told lance.

by the way...bob mcnair, himself, was at the workout today.

Lance just said he talked to some scouts and they said VY's workout was just "okay". They thought it was very protected and scripted. He kept away from routes he couldn't throw. One scout said he would be ticked by the proday today if he was looking to draft Vince.

That's weird since Lance said he threw a bunch of NFL throws today, but like he admitted, there's the difference between a trained and untrained eye.

The Titans are coming to Austin with Fisher, Chow, and receivers tomorrow for private workouts? Hopefully that will scare the Texans enought to pick him. ;)

610 is reporting that Cowart is likely to sign.
