Actually, I would think Mort's scout is Chris Landry, lsu guy.

Mort was reasonable enough to point out that he talked to six scouts and only one of them was still troubled by Vince's delivery.

Actually, I thought we already had this debate. Maybe it was gucci. Anyways, if you look back through the thread I said that if I had to make an educated guess (which is really all any of us can make being as that none of us were there) I would say that VY performed well at his pro day.

My basic premise was to say that Sean salisbury was a complete idiot in my eyes and I don't listen to anything he says regarding any prospects. I consider Mort to be a pretty credible guy (I didn't say his report on Vy was credible since I believe he wasn't even there)

He's just a jealous a-hole. I've met Marino more then once and he's always been well spoken and a very likable guy. You can also listen to him on television and tell he's not an idiot.

VY has "it". Leinart is going to be a good pro but to me he didn't step up like VY did in the Rose Bowl. That being said I think he is the much safer pick. I know Leinart will at least be good in the pros. I think VY will be either really good or a bust. There's no in between for him.

I don't know if I could call myself a fan of his yet because I really haven't seen what he can do. I'm definitely in favor of keeping him though (like the Texans chose to do). After our FA signings (especially if we get Moulds and when we pick Bush) david will have an array of weapons to show whath e can do. I'm certainly not willing to throw in the towel on a guy who hasn't had a fair chance to operate in a real offense.

So you think he can be a good quarterback, right?

Absolutely. I think he has all the tools to be a good or even great QB. I also love the fact that he's mobile. I'm not going ot sit here and say that he hasn't made his share of mistakes but he definitely hasn't had a fighting chance yet. You give us AJ (Holt), Moulds (Bruce), Mathis (Hakim), Walter (Proehl), Bush (Faulk), Putzier (Cromwell) and Carr (Warner) and all of a sudden you have one of the most explosive offenses in the league. I know Moulds isn't for sure yet but I have a feeling we are going to get him.

Then you must not think Salisbury is too much of an idiot, considering he has said nothing but glowing things about David Carr. Seems to me that you want to judge the book by its cover in this case. Or maybe you just have selective hearing.

So because somebody shares one opinion with you that immediately qualifies them as a non idiot?

Please read the thread before jumping in and making asanine statements like this. I have stated at least 4 or 5 times that i don't care what salisbury's opinion is about any player (whether he happens to agree with me or not). I think he's an idiot. Just because he has the same opinion as me in certain cases doesn't mean I value his opinion. Certainly you can comprehend that. Selective hearing? Not in salisbury's case because I don't listen to him. I never even knew he endorsed Carr.

Never said that much but hopefully. I'd rather be positive then negative and after what was looking like a dismal offseason we've made some solid additions. If you look at out potential offense it can be outstanding. That's not even factoring in DD if he isn't traded.

We need an equivalent to Orlando Pace.

I think we will be much improved.

    Like- Kubiak
    Like- Flannigan
    Like- Andre Johnson

Don't like- the right side of our offensive line
Don't like David Carr's touch on deep passes
Don't like David Carr's decisions with regard to getting AJ touches

Just the addition of a legit center and a good offensive system will help.

I don't think we will be one of the most explosive offenses in the league unless we shore up the right side of the line, get another good WR and David Carr improves drastically in decision making and his vertical passing game- 20yds. +.

    Just my opinion.

    We need a great draft.

He was an Oiler at one point, though.

I agree with that for the most part. I was hoping to land Moulds and am completely convinced wee are picking Bush. I think that's become pretty obvious with the signing of Kalu, Cowart and Flannigan (as well as the pursuit of Moulds). The only guy I wanted to trade down for was Williams and now we have 4 DE's on our roster. I would have to be more impressed with a trade that only netted me Brick then I was with one that allowed me Williams.

Carr's deep touch needs to improve but i think that's a combination of things (like poor blocking and him not wanting to stand in the pocket and get punished). I think the right side of our OL will be addressed through the draft and AJ's touches will improve if we aquire a guy like Moulds. People forget that Carr helped make AJ a pro bowl receiver in only his second year. AJ was hurt last year and we were terrible so I consider it a wash. When AJ was on the field everyone just doubled him because Gaffney was too slow to beat anyone down field and Mathis couldn't catch.
