Ok, so do you think he will evolve and be a good NFL quarterback? College is a quicker window, VY sucked against OU and Missouri in 04, and if I recall, the Horns allowed him to have freedom with the ball after putting together a highlight vid for him to see, just after the Missouri game, and then he took off. I question Tennessee's coaches and what they want him to do on offense. Collinsworth said it best when Young is told to study hard, learn the playbook,,yada, yada, but also, if you see an opening, run. I think VY needs a new beginning, especially if Fisher is still the coach.
The window isn't that much quicker in college -- you're talking about a couple less games per season, but nothing all that significant. You can't remotely compare a bad two week stretch like Vince had in mid-October 2004 to what's happened in Tennessee for two full years now. At this point, I don't see him being a good NFL quarterback. Everyone keeps coming up with all these wild theories about what he needs to succeed, but I'm afraid the reality is that his game just isn't conducive to the speed of NFL defenses. And I say this as an enormous UT fan that went to both Rose Bowls.
Vince Young sucks, end of story. And to think, the titans could have had the best player of that draft was Jay Cutler. Young has gotten worse if that's possible. When young had confidence he struck fear in the defense, now he is just bad and it doesn't even look like he's trying, he needs to be cut from the titans.
The INT was a missed route by the WR. Not a stellar game by Vince for sure but good God some of you guys in your anti-VY stances are approaching bigtexxx territory.
Vince Young completed just 5-of-10 passes for 39 yards, a touchdown, and one interception in the Hall of Fame exhibition opener. Young was the second Titans QB to enter, behind Kerry Collins. His first pass was behind LenDale White in the flat and his second was picked by Leodis McKelvin with no Titan in the area. It was probably a miscommunication, but Young showed zero awareness on the play. The Titans went three-and-out on his second, third, and fifth possessions before Patrick Ramsey entered. V.Y. mixed in a 37-yard touchdown "drive" after Bills PR Bruce Hall muffed a late second-quarter punt, but overall it was an ugly display. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=3602&sn=t Vince can still be an avg to above avg QB on a good team, he just needs to go back to basics and let himself be taught but saying that.... MARIO WILLIAMS WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE LOL
it would be a shame if he gets cut only to sign with another team. Your NEWWWWWWWWWW Starting QB for the Denver Broncos. Good thing I've been a life long Denver Bronco fan. Got that in my back pocket.
good showing by VY tonight. Good chemistry with 1st round pick WR Britt. Hope to see it during the regular season, but not gonna happen unless Collins gets hurt or the titans start out 0-4. Collins was horrendous tonight and thats with the 1st team.
I'm glad he did alright tonight. For a guy who lost his mentor to death in this year, and a houstonian who loves the Rockets, he sure gets tons of hate here.
VY looked pretty good tonight. And Kenny Britt looks like he could emerge as the Titans first legit receiver in years
