I love how Vince Young gets no respect from Hoge. I wonder if they asked Hoge who would he have as his QB? VY or David Carr?

At least the Texan Vince Haters on this board would give a kidney or a spleen to have David Carr run a 40 yard TD .

Check out the poll on ESPN right now: "Who has been the most impressive NFL offensive rookie this season?"

    current results:

    Reggie Bush - 16%
    Marques Colston - 28%
    Maurice-Jones Drew -13%
    Matt Leinart - 3%
    Vince Young - 41%

Man, VY is winning the hearts and minds of fans everywhere (check out the state-by-state results). Next stop: Offensive Rookie of the Year?

With his late year surge, and with Colston tailing off I wouldn't be shocked if he was.

Could you imagine if the Texans had both the offensive rookie of the year along with the defensive? Oh, what could have been.

    Rookie of the week threepeat...
    Rookie of the Week

Fans select Vince Young as Week 14 Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week

NEW YORK (Dec. 14, 2006) -- Voters on NFL.com and via Sprint wireless service have made their choice. For the third week in a row, quarterback VINCE YOUNG of the Tennessee Titans is the DIET PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for games played on December 7, 10-11, the NFL announced today.

Young completed 19 of 29 passes for 218 yards and carried seven times for 86 yards and one touchdown in the Titans’ 26-20 overtime victory over the Houston Texans. Young, who has run for 458 yards this season, scrambled 39 yards for the game-winning touchdown in overtime.

More than 67,970 fans voted this week on NFL.com and via Sprint wireless service. Young was selected from among five finalists. The other finalists were running back REGGIE BUSH of the New Orleans Saints, defensive back DEVIN HESTER of the Chicago Bears, running back MAURICE JONES-DREW of the Jacksonville Jaguars and quarterback MATT LEINART of the Arizona Cardinals

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com and via Sprint wireless service throughout the month of January. The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XLI in South Florida.

This is Pepsi’s fifth year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the second year that Diet Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards

I'm sorry, but returning two kickoffs and breaking the season record for return TDs is a little more impressive than needing OT to beat the powerhouse Texans.

ummm..it's not just the Texans game. QBing a team as a rookie to a 6-2 record over the last 8 games with 3 come from behind wins, including one where you account for about 90% of the offense by yourself is what i think people might be a bit excited about.

Voting for rookie of the week is about things that happened in different weeks?

I have no problem if he wins OROY.

Do you think that they're better than the Texans? Hell, I'm guessing the Rams wouldn't need OT to beat the Texans.

I forgot that the NFL added an "almost lost" category after W-L.

You're looking pathetic and desperate in here when your argument is that he WON in OT.

I'm just joking around about that. VY's awesome.

He still shouldn't have won ROW over Hester. He should win ROY, though.

But thanks for the compliment though.

What does whether he set a season record in returns for TDs have to do with ROW? Otherwise VY as setting the rookie rush record last week should factor in.

The Bears mauled the Rams. The last Hester TD the Bears were still comfortably ahead (moved the score to 42-20).

VY accounted for the winning TD and he lead his team to multiple drives with lots of 3rd down conversions to keep the Titans in position to win.

VY was more important and more dominant in leading his team to victory. 2 kick returns for TDs are 2 spectacular plays, but much less influence on the overall game and thus less deserving of ROW honors.

I think supremely irritated by the whole VY-Tenn train is a better way of putting it.
