The same Sportscenter on the same ESPN network that was wondering if Vince Young would drop out of the top 10? That's the most ironic thing about Vince's break out. The same sports guys who were trying to downplay his college success and predict failure for him at draft time are lambasting the Texans now that he's successful. It's fun to revise history.

couldn't agree with you more but we've grown to expect this from espn. however, when your hometown football team turns its back on its own son, that's unforgivable.

Do you forgive the Rockets for not drafting Drexler?

Like a true fan we supported a Houston hero during Glide's Trailblazer years.

So you wanted the Rockets to lose? You would be happy to see Portland fans showing up at the Summit cheering for the Blazers giving them an extra edge in possibly defeating the Rockets? I know didn't want to see that during the 93 Playoffs.

My ONLY concern was the Rockets winning.

absolutely. because i already had deep ties to the rockets. i would have forgiven the oilers for passing up on VY, if they were still around. because the oilers were my team for years and years. because my level of commitment to the oilers and rockets was bigger than any one player. that just isn't so with the texans.

Seems like a blessing that you didn't turn into a Blazer fan.

    Things change.

exactly. my father took me to watch moses and the rox lose to larry legend in '81. you don't shake that kind of bond with a team after that.

Good thing you already had those ties. Based on both the Astros and Rockets first five-plus seasons, you would be rooting for the Red Sox and Celtics right now. :D

    dude,
warren moon was a hall of famer QB, so you wouldnt draft VY.

the situation with the texans is different. David Carr is NOT A HALL OF FAME QB.
Hell, you wouldn't even pick David Carr on Madden Football.

    This is a horrible analogy.

    1. The Portland Blazers were not originally the Houston Blazers
    2. The Portland Blazers have been around since the 70s
    3. Im perfectly fine if Wortham High/UH people cheer for Clyde
    4. Comparing the Houston Rockets to the Houston Texans is impossible, we're talking about a team that captured our hearts and have been to playoffs many times

The Texans may have capture like 5 people's hearts, yours, rocketman69s, and Enron and Haliburton. While Vince Young has captured Houston's heart since his days in High school. That's why the 2nd largest crowd for a Texans game was when VY came home.

Vince Young grew up 6miles from Reliant Enron Greedy Oil Gas Good Ole Boys Stadium and they cold dissed him. What comes around goes around.
