Merrill Hoge is a very smart man. Otherwise he wouldn't be on tv. Hodgie, Hoge, Haji, Hogie- Not sure how they spell it.

And it is only going to get funnier and funnier as Vince gets more comfortable. He has IT !!! And IT....is not so easy to come by. The Texans blew IT ! DD
Seriously...found this too, Jaws made Hoge blow up on ESPN the other night. "How is this so personal?"..."IT'S NOT PERSONAL!!" Classic. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5kQaJKEac98"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5kQaJKEac98" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> I seriously think Hoge is losing it, he better be careful. ESPN loves clashing minds, but when you say that VY, Leinart, and Cutler weren't 1st Round material and that Kellen Clemens was the best QB in the draft, it just makes you seem like you're picking people off the streets.
He'll come around. He'll have to. They all do ultimately. Lance Z. said this very morning on 610 that he made a mistake. He said Bush should have been the #1 pick...now he says there's little doubt in his mind it should have been VY. He had doubters at every level. Hell, I was looking at him his sophomore year at UT wondering if he'd every develop into a pro level QB. But I don't recall a guy developing so quickly from level to level. Seems to soak in the game very quickly and adjust.
I recall his freshman year ... at times I wondered if he would make it at the college level. As for hodges... I hope he doesn't get on the bandwagon. I hope he's talking about how amazing the Titans are for hiding their QB in a superbowl win. What a fool.
I don't know, what does defending Carr and the Texans over and over do for you? I am a fan of Vince Young and the way he plays football. I live in Austin Texas, and would have happily jumped on the Texan's bandwagon had they taken him in the draft. I grew up in Houston, and still have huge allegiances to the Rockets and Astros.....the Texans have not done it for me, and drafting Vince would have brought me on board. I follow the Texans in a cursory fashion, but sometimes it is more fun to just watch the train wreck happen, then to be on the train. DD
Well at least we'll get to see the Texans play this weekend on Austin tv since they're playing the Titans.
Well you might want to take some time to figure it out, VOF. I have defended Carr? I want the Texans to beat all other NFL teams period. Being a fan of the Texans does the same thing being a fan of the HOUSTON Rockets and HOUSTON Astros does for me. It's all about the home team. You seem to think this is some showdown of who is right and who is wrong on a draft pick. None of that matters. I support the team the Texans currently have even though we totally suck, but would love upgrades. We will have different players next year. I will support them too. You are nothing but a VOF.
insult or badge of honor? he never was a Texans fan to begin with! he was a UT fan first and foremost.
Not according to this: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=121245 Then he just needs to come to terms with his true feelings and quit pretending to care about the Texans to the point of starting threads about them and their draft choices.
LOL - I also like Jeff Fisher.....and was a massive Houston Oiler fan.....probably before you were born !! The Texans...I am just getting into them......I like Andre Johnson and a few other players, but my biggest beef is that I have watched David Carr just suck for 5 years and people keep making excuses for it, like none of it is his fault. A lot of the sacks he has taken are his own fault due to holding the ball too long or not having pocket presence. It is hard to get behind an organization that makes blunder after blunder....and then refuses to admit it's mistakes. Carr was a mistake...time to move on. And Meowgi, nothing wrong with rooting for the Texans for 14 games a year, and then rooting for the Titans in the other 2.....it is called being a fan. DD
Do you think they are going to say "Carr sucks" when there is no backup qb and they are trying to win on Sunday? Kubiak thought he could improve Carr. Bush was the obvious 1st pick to the majoirty in the world. The only reason you wanted VY so bad is because of he was from UT. It's not like you scouted all the draft prospects objectively and came to this conclusion. For us who don't have any emotional ties to the guy he is a missed pick and that's all. You are telling us to move on? We are trying to move on. You are the one stuck.
