Plus there were idiots here saying the texans were doomed forever for passing Black Jesus up. And then you had idiots touting the luv ya blue ****, and they've been oilers fan forever and they weren't quite born yet. Then, unfortunate as it sounds, they rather have a black guy playing quarterback than David Carr.
you are right david catr was doing so well at the time. wow kam i never knew it was racial with you. no wonder you are still bitter posting the same crap over half a decade later. geez
I thought the CFL was going to be his best shot at playing football again if no NFL teams were interested. I am surprised to see the Packers giving him a shot. Of course he's just competing for the back up job, but you never know. I definitely will be watching to see what he does in the pre-season.
When was the last time a guy went to the cfl to get his nfl career back? just general discussion. how often do guys get to the nfl from performance in other leagues
What are you talking about. I was for The Texans drafting Vince young over Reggie Bush. I was super pissed off the Friday afternoon before the draft hearing that the Texans came to terms with Mario Williams. It was the aftermath of this whole debacle. And people got so lucky he went to Tennessee so they wouldn't look like Jeremy Lin/Tracy mcgrady fan girls. They could always fall back on that and say, well, they were just the oilers a few seasons ago. Total horse ****. I have no issues saying it. It's an orange and a black thing. You hear it at the water cooler, you hear it at the barber shop, you hear it on the radio, you see it on twitter. We're you here in 2006 for all that crap? I'm assuming you were on a different username.
Kam there are plenty of white people who wanted vince. over half the texan fans were tired of carr. i dont understand the race angle. i mean are there black fans who want a black qb sure. but to limit the furor over vince to black fans is stupid. dude had just come ioff one of the greatest college careers ever. i can understand being upset over fair weather fans but you are trying to severely under play the ut and houston angle.
I dont dispute anything kam other than the race angle. people have the same hope in teabow as vince because of their college dominance
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_Young Place of birth: Houston, Texas High school: Houston (TX) Madison College: Texas Jeremy Lin Born Los Angeles, California High school Palo Alto (Palo Alto, California) College Harvard Tracy McGrady Born Bartow, Florida High school Auburndale (Auburndale, Florida) Mount Zion Christian Academy(Durham, North Carolina)
Interesting new addition of "if" now. Before, it was simply this: At this point in his career, a team just isn't very willing to take a chance on a guy who is about to turn 30 and has a long history of not putting forth effort to improve himself and his team. ... There is a reason no one wants him and I think the fact that he is not willing to play in Canada shows a lot of reason...entitlement. We were told that he was stupid not to go to the CFL and that it showed his immaturity and unwillingness to work. There were no "if" added at the time.
It had nothing to do with fair weather fans. Everything to do with the **** that was spewed for years after the Texans passed on him.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...opes-to-play-vince-young-in-preseason-opener/ Good luck Vince, glad you joined me second favorite team, but would have rather you gone to a crappy team so you had a chance at playing.
Well, thanks I guess? You're doing basically the same thing that Lin fans in the bay area are doing? Oh I'll follow you anywhere!!!! Congrats number 1 only fan.
I don't think they ever mention that Jeremy is from Houston, because he's not. Vince is from Houston. H-town.
Not a horrible game. Hope he shows enough for another team to pick him up after he scares the other guys enough to trying hard. Can see them cutting him after game 3. Maybe game 4.
