^no you're right, he shouldn't have to show anything at this point given his resume, but this is where we are now. So all you can do is start over & FORCE someone to break code & just do what's best for their team.
You don't think a player might have changed (good or bad) over the course of 2 years out of the league?
But I felt his biggest problems were going through his progressions and making the propper reads. I don't think people questioned that he is a physically gifted athlete.
I suppose he can show the physical side is there in hopes someone will give him another chance.....so I guess I retract my previous statements.
Something along the lines of, "His pathetic display in Philly when given a golden opportunity to reclaim an NFL starting job coupled with the fact that he couldn't beat out the immortal Tyler Thigpen nor the legendary Brad Smith in QB-starved Buffalo pretty much validates my decision to cut him loose" would be my guess. So, I take it by the "now" typed in all caps, the Vince Dumb worshippers are using his incredible pro day earlier this week to make their case that he'll be revolutionizing the postion in 2013?
"Young is taking 15 credits at Texas this semester and will graduate in May, but he said he has spent a lot of time working on his footwork in daily throwing sessions. Texas co-offensive coordinator and QB coach Major Applewhite told Around The League that Young has better body control, rhythm and anticipation than he used to." Good that he is going to graduate this year.

Man, Skip actually standing up for Vince Young..... I'm a Skip Bayless fan now Damn it Vince, why you gotta make me do this?
The one thing that all you VY supporters seem to forget is he QUIT on his team (Titans). He got a second chance with the Eagles, and with a coach (Reid) who has a history of developing qbs. He wasn't resigned and was back on the street. Not only did he get a second chance, but he also got a third opportunity with the Bills. He couldn't beat out a couple of scrubs for the backup position. So what's keeping VY from getting another shot? From what I gather (and everyone seems to be dancing around), VY isn't too bright nor does he have the work ethic that teams want (watching film). Not only watching it but grasping it. Teams also know that VY isn't going to be happy with a backup role very long, and will eventually get frustrated and than what? Could he help a team? Who knows. However it looks like teams aren't willing to go down that road again. Hopefully he gets another shot.
your post is very original, i mean us vy6 have never heard any of this before in an over 3k post thread. how original, thanks buddy.
It CAN happen I suppose, with low probability. Which made VY's tenure in Philly that more disappointing, same setting and was terrible in it.
Fair enough, but Vick was already pretty good and only left the league only because of his crimes, not because he sucked.
