Remind me not to listen to sports radio for even 20 seconds today. I don't want to hear a bunch of VYOF's talking about how the Texans "need to bring the prodigal home". Especially the ones who "grew up with him" and have "known him since he was a boy"...(which is apparently EVERYONE). I have never understood why people think that ALL Houstonian football fans should venerate His Sacred Jockstrap. Yeah he went to High School here, but his Madison beat North Shore which is within walking distance of where I live. He went to college at UT sure, but I am a Cougar fan...and my second favorite team is whoever is playing Texas. And then he went to the Frigging TITANS....the old Houston Oilers who Bud moved to possum kingdom, taking all our franchise records and history with him....and they are one of the Texans bitterest division foes. I don't have any cause to hate him personally...but as a enemy QB and an impossible to escape topic of "intelligent conversation" on EVERY SPORTS TALK SHOW IN HOUSTON...I have lots of reason to hope he disappears.
Vince haters are worse than VOFs. Not to mention there are way more of them. I am not a UT fan and have no horse in this race. But I think it's laughable that so many of you completely hate the guy as if he did something to you
It's because we were abused by the VYOF back in 2006 to the point where we irrationally hate the guy. It's sad really but the VYOF were like 4chan gangsters and way worse than YOF or any OF in the history of sports. I was mobbed in a bar once by VYOFs
You're just the opposite of the "VYOF" you are criticizing. How can you fault him for playing for the Titans? He was drafted there. Case Keenum would do the same. VY doesn't even play there anymore. Why is he your "enemy?" He didn't move the oilers to Nashville. It's not like you are painting yourself as this neutral bystandard. You admit you don't like Texas and that is one of the reasons you don't like a local talent like VY. Beyond his role as the QB of the Titans I have no hatred for Vince Young. However, the VY fanboys who made life miserable for Texans fans who liked to post on message boards or listen to the radio? Their tears taste so sweet.
Couldn't have said it better myself. VYOF's ruined any chance of me rooting for him..... All the crap the Texans org and fans took for them not drafting him was insane.

It has nothing to do with UT. True Texans fans couldn't even listen to AM radio due to the rabid VYOF - mainly guys like Rich Lord who know nothing about football.
It wasn't just VY fans. IT WAS EVERYONE. Everyone bashed the organization for not taking reggie and then they bashed the Texans for not taking VY. It wasn't just VY fans.
I understand that and I didn't like it either (one of the myriad of reasons I don't listen to sports radio any longer...obnoxious hosts and non-sports talk are two others). But to read two known UT haters say that it was sports radio callers who killed any chance of them rooting for VY is laughable. No, it was because a) he was a Longhorn and b) he was a Titan. They weren't going to root for him anyway.

I don't really like UT. I don't hate them, but I can hate their fans at times. When UT fan was screaming for VY to come to the Texans, I thought it was just a dumb idea. We had just signed Carr to an extension, and we didn't need a franchise QB. The Titan thing was all about Bud Adams, so I don't hold that against him, either. And these days, I feel bad for him, and hope he gets another chance. But call UT fan what they were back then: Obnoxious, myopic, annoying. It really made it hard NOT to want to see him fall on his face.
Yeah I believe that's the primary hate for him originally. Knowing how this board has expanded so much that you have more people who aren't familiar with the Texas instate rivalries. I just think it's funny that we have lebron james trolls on this thread. I respect the originals like macalu and thegary etc on this thread that actually went through the ups and downs of this topic.
