Speaking of Jeff Fisher, I bet most of the VY lovers blame him for VY being so terrible with the Bills.
What do you guys think about VY joining the Houston Stallions? http://www.oursportscentral.com/sports/?t_id=2469 It will be a good opportunity for him to get back to playing in Houston with all of his fans.
VY still has the steakhouse in Austin. I like the burger, the bone marrow is overrated. Good luck VY in your future ventures.
That's not being very fair to VY fans. Dude just can't run like he did in college in the NFL so his game has become very 1 dimensional. No spy plays means no open receivers like he used to have. Not sure if it's age or if he is out of shape. He's just not a threat out of the pocket. There are a lot of QBs who don't make it in the pros. It doesn't cheapen all they did in college. I was at UT during both Rose Bowls and those games are in the top 5 moments of my time in school. There are only a handful of schools who can understand what I mean by that. I'm sure when his playing days are over UT will make a VY statue near the Ricky one. Both were arguably the best players UT ever had at their positions. You guys may hate on the blind devotion that UT fans have to VY but the fact of the matter is that you will never understand until your school wins a national championship. This is a fact. You do not understand.
He lost too much athleticism. I remember the Pats game where Edelman was able to tackle him. I don't think the younger VY would be able to tackle him in the open field.

Bush has scored 40 touchdowns in his 6 year career. That's pretty damn productive. Granted he hasn't been a good running back, but his first year as a full time starter carrying the load in Miami he had a 1000 yard rushing season. Last year he rushed for 1086 yards. The Saints used him in a different way, but you can't ignore 40 touchdowns in 6 years. You can't call that a bust bro. What has Mario done that was so special, other than getting a huge contract? 53 career sacks is solid and that 14 sack season was impressive, but I wouldn't say he's been more productive than a 40 touchdown guy who was a big part of a super bowl championship team. I don't see where what I said was such a joke? Can you elaborate? http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BushRe00.htm http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WillMa22.htm
I think I'm being very fair. A good number of VY fans are in the Twilight Zone. Agreed that VY's NFL failures don't detract from his college career, which was amazing to watch for two years. I very badly wanted UT to beat USC and when he crossed the goal line, it was an unbelievable ending to one of the greatest games ever played.
What VY did in college can never be taken away from him. The greatest college football player I've ever seen. However, those of us who said he would not be a good pro quarterback and the Texans SHOULD NOT draft him were right. 100% right. Rich Lord and the other knob slobbers were wrong. That's just a simple fact at this point.
These are all guys that were drafted below Bush (#2) and there are more than the ones I listed. He is a bust for a number 2 pick. He was traded for peanuts to the Dolphins only a few years into his Saints career. Where a guy is drafted and the bonus money he makes should factor into the expectations he has as a pro. It's not enough that he is a decent back. LT had 111 TDS in his first 6 years Ricky had 51 Duece 45ish Drew 70 Priest 64 Peterson has 64 in 5 years Mario was respected as a player more than his stats because he was constantly double teamed. This opened up opportunities for the rest of the line. He just had some bad defenses behind him most of his career. Reggie didn't get double teamed.
Ryan Leaf was a bust, someone with a super bowl ring and 40 touchdowns is not a bust. Didn't live up to the hype? Yes that is true, but I don't think Reggie Bush can be defined as a bust especially when he rushed for 1000 yards in his first year as a feature back.
Ryan leaf is not the standard bust. He is known as the biggest bust in NFL history. If anyone who disappoints less than Ryan Leaf is not a bust than there would only be 1 bust ever. The number 2 pick in the draft (Bush) was traded for reserve safety Jonathon Amaya and a swap of 6th round draft picks. He was given a 50 million dollar contract and 25 mil guaranteed. You can't evaluate players objectively. He would have been a good pick in the 2nd or 3rd round. Not number 2. Not the fruit of a saints team that went 2-14 or whatever horrible record they had.
