No. VY would not fit into this system well. I don't know any system he would fit into. As a longhorn that was at UT for both rose bowls, I want my Texans to stay away from Vince Young. I will root for him in the NFC but he is not a good fit here at all.

So, he threw for almost 400 today and got crushed. Does the magical "just wins" power only kick in when he is 9 for 31 for 124 yards with 3 pics?

He made some bad plays, but so did dj and eagles D. I think he gave them a reasonable chance to win with few (3) plays being different, but tom brady on god mode is kind of hard to beat.

Didn't watch the game / keep up with it at all, but his defense gave up 38, which had a lot more to do with getting crushed than VY. Guess he should have played both ways, huh? Looks like he also led the team in rushing?

    So much blind hatred...

I was actually giving props, and making YOUR point that he probably played well enough to win today.

Of course, he probably benefits from good D and a good running game for some of those 9-31-124 games when by his play alone he "should have" lost....but everyone tells me "He just WINS!" when that happens

So if VY's defense has a good game and shuts the other team down, VY just wins. If his defense gives up 38 points then VY needs more help and can't do it all himself. Got it. What would Brady do if his defense gave up 30? Score 40.

you mean a team consists of an offense AND a defense? no way!

New England is 0-1 this season when their defense gives up 30+ points. They are 1-4 in the last 3 years in that situation.

I say he "just wins" when he leads an improbable 4th quarter comeback, not when the defense is lights out and wins the game for him.

Hilarious. Anyway, my point was that VY could accept blame and defense get a pass for getting crushed if the final score were 20-0. It wasn't...offense put up a decent # of points despite no help from the running game.

    VY, the GREAT.

Except VY had a top 5 QB rating last year and the his performance this year has been solid. The last couple of years, VY doesn't cost his team wins and sometimes his team wins because of him. They didn't lose today because of him.

Vince underthrew Desean like 3 times, then overthrew him 3 more.... That's Vick's team...Always will be

Yet many of those games are examples of both. Defense plays lights out, he struggles for most of the game, then at the end of the game his clutchness comes out and he drives them to a win.

When he plays good for most of the game and the defense comes back to the level of suck they've been all season long = not his loss

But when he plays bad for 75% of the game and the defense keeps them in it for him to drive it in the 4th quarter = VY just wins.

Eagles suck, it's not on VY whether they win or lose. When their stud RB gets underused; when Desean is only playing at 50% and dropping passes like Braylon 2.0; when the defense can't tackle or utilize their stud CBs in the right schemes, they aren't going to win regardless of who's under center.

What are these excuses for a qb not taking blame when the defense gives up 30+ points?
