let me teach something meowgi, in 1993-94 the entire city was inspired some superheroes that won a nba championship. therefore the team and the fans learned a lesson in heart and winning. robert horry took his knowledge to los angeles and san anotonio sam took his knowledge to the clippers (we know this is true because on Kenny Smith's sirius show last year, he tells him how he's what's learned in houston ...leadership, pride. confidence) kenny smith took his knowledge to TNT. Mario elie took his too the spurs. rudy t to the olympics. certain special fans grabbed that energy of knowledge. Vince Young took that to a different sport, football. When I was in Vegas several months ago, I won lots of money on craps. I rolled lots of 11s. 11?? Yao/Maxwell see? learn.
And during that time, and years before, I had to support the Rockets to fellow Houstonians who said "The Rockets are ok, but the will never win a championship" or "The Rockets suck, the Bulls rule". I just sat and waited on the Horry draft pick when the boos came. It was worth it as well. On the Clutch City video Rudy T talked about the crappy non-existent Houston fans. He said "When I took over this job, you walked around this city and kids are wearing Chicago Bulls, all these other jerseys. The kids of Houston should love the Houston Rockets". He said kids, but this reflects all Houstonians, and at least kids have the excuse of being young and impressionable. It was great feeling having been big Rockets fan for years before they won the championship. Too bad you won't be able to enjoy that same feeling if the Texans ever win something. And before you say "they won't" remember that people said the same things about The Rockets and they are saying it again. But you have your boy toy, so I hope it's worth being a Titans fan for the rest of your life. Go Houston!
Man, i saw him at the gym when he made it 14-10 Indy and left...I come home and they f'n win? Bad ass...Yet another reason to say we should have drafted VY...The legend grows...
you're jealous that a kid from the hood in houston texas could be a great nfl player. keep hating, it makes vince stronger.
since you hate on kids that come from the hood from HISD, you can at least equally hate on the kids that went to better HISD schools too. i'm gonna help you out now meowgi, so you can distribute your hate: hate on bellaire and madison.
Let's see we have one player who is a rookie on a team with no more talent than the Texans and a player 5 years into his development. One of those players is 5-4 as a starting QB, the other 4-8. Shocking that it is Vince with the winning record How much must it suck to support the Texans or be a member of the front office and know you passed up a guy who was the jordan of houston high school football and who is already better than your 5 year starter at qb, when nobody could steal him away from you.
Except that if people are annoyed by a thread, they could just avoid it. It's not like the title doesn't make clear what the thread is about.
Man, I wish I could be a bandwagoner and cheer for a team performing better than the Texans! Nobody said being a Texans fan is easy. You take the good with the bad.
gotta go through the bad to make the good all that much sweeter. frontrunners always are great conversation pieces.
