LOL - so what we have are two cry babies butting heads, and the owner says....SHUT THE HECK UP...and work it out. Nice. DD
and fisher sees him every day in practice so you wonder why. every coach puts winning first b/c their job depends on it. i dont' think fisher is as childish as VY to put his job in jeopardy b/c he doesnt like VY
Not a shocker that Adams is going to stick w/ Young. If Young were gone, the Titans would lose 99% of their fan base in Houston, which probably accounts for 100% of their fan base outside of Tennessee.
saying is one thing b/c sometimes you say before you think. VY walked out on his team and coaches. that's worse.
I hate that I even have to have this argument. Tracy quit on his teammates while he was physically out on the floor. Any person without "t-mac" in their username would agree that quitting during the game is worse than locker room issues (which Tracy had plenty of as well.)
So . . .and 0-6 start . . .then having to be FORCED to make a change [you coincidentally then going 8-2 with the guy . .] and you are ready to yank they guy at a moments notice??? nnnaaaaaa that does not smack of putting your job in jeopardy just to not play a guy [/sarcasm] QUESTION: Would he have yanked the other QB that he likes yesterday? Maybe for a play or two . . but if the guy said he could go . . . Fisher would put him back in . . but he doesn't do that for VY . .. . . that means it is PERSONAL. Rocket River
Of course it is.....the guy already looks foolish because of last year.....he held onto Kerry Collins for as long as he could until the OWNER said...enough.... I mean come on.....that is never going to end all that well.... DD
VY is a mental case. if he sucks for a half, he'll suck for an entire game. fisher yanks him b/c he doesn't want vince to break down even more probably. hell, when the crowd booed him, he got pissed and raised his arms to egg them on even more. if i was coach, i would pull him b/c obviously he's letting the crowd affect him. but regardless, one of them will go after this year. it will most likely be fisher b/c the team has invested so much on VY. i really do wish VY recovers from this and plays well. he has talent and he has the physical tools. i dont' think he has greatness written all over him, but he has to ability to be a career-long starter. hopefully people aroudn him encourage him to just play. EDIT: VY just needs to be like reggie bush. bush had high expectatiosn coming into the pros, but things aren't going the way he anticipated. now he knows his role and just play.
Fisher isn't to blame. Sad... as a Horns fan, I really wanted him to do well... but he's made it hard and I'm pretty much done with him now. Coming out of college, I thought he would have the talent to become a great QB, resemble a Mike Vick.... sadly, I don't think he possess those qualities anymore even if he gets a fresh start somewhere else.
This is coming from an owner who's been the biggest head-case of them all. What an idiot. He's better off saying nothing in that situation until he can have a real sit-down with the coach, unless he doesn't give a **** about his coach. What if Fisher explains that the reason why Moss has done nothing since them being acquired is because VY doesn't see when he's open. What if Fisher explains that VY can't grasp the full playbook, thus they've dumbed it down to only quick passing routes and two reads. What if Fisher explains that he would love VY to run, but (gasp) he's 4 years older now, has had a fair share of injuries, and doesn't possess the Vick-like athleticism to be a dangerous running QB against the speedy safeties and LB's of this league. Instead he backs his coach and team into a corner and says that he's not budging because "we pay him (VY) a lot of money, so yeah, I think he should be here." Reminds me a lot of when Parcells was forced away from the Patriots... "They want you to cook the meal, they at least ought to let you shop for some of the groceries..."
Nick, What if the owner says, well then design an offense to utilize his talents and stop trying to make him something he isn't. Vince is a fairly unique talent, a guy who can get stuff done with his legs too, yet you hardly ever see him scramble any more...why is that? He needs to get moving, and get back to doing what he does well. DD
He said it yesterday Richard Justice just said this today. Said they've had to dumb down the playbook, not because Vince is necessarily dumb, but because he hasnt put in the time/work ethic. fwiw
It was a toss-up as to whether you or RJ would be the last off the VY bandwagon. Congratulations DD, you win. (I think?)
I know you are sorry to hear his career is not over, and this was just a blown up coach vs player confrontation. DD
Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller said it on Sirius NFL network have been repeating this for at least the past 3 weeks, and one of the Titan's beat writers said it yesterday.
