So, so disappointed in VY. Tough to watch one of my favorite college players (and probably the best college football player I've ever seen) have a complete meltdown like this.
You do realize that all of those guys left because they became free agents and got offered gigantic, overvalued contracts, or were shaved off for cap reasons, right? None of those guys ever butted heads with Fisher. The closest you could even argue to that would be Haynesworth after he assaulted another player. That pissed Fish off rightly, but they patched that up rather quickly. Stop making stuff up, dude.
Amazing. Your contention is that Fisher ran players out of town like Kearse and Haynesworth. The counter was that they left for money and not because of a clash with Fisher as evidenced by the fact that two of the ones you mentioned wanted to go back to Ten. Your response is that they realized the grass isn't greener. Doesn't that disprove your notion that Fisher is some hardass anti-player coach? They went somewhere else and realized they liked being with Fish? Are you stupid? I feel like I'm in crazyland when I read your posts trying to defend Vince here. (And that is what you are doing whether you are being blatant about it or not) Fisher is not some jerk to players. He has not "run players out of town." Samari Rolle was washed up, Haynesworth and Kearse left for a lot of money, and Van den Bosch went to be with his defensive coordinator. Nobody was run out of town. I can't wait for the Titans to fire Jeff Fisher.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, especially if VY doesn't need the surgery.... It is time for a fresh start I think for both..... DD
The grass wasn't greener? Please! Kearse stayed with the Eagles until he was released for under-performing. Haynesworth never had a problem in Tennessee with Fisher that was major, he just signed a bloated contract that Washington offered. Yeah, he doesn't want to be in Washington now but he stated he would be willing to go to any team that ran the 4-3, including Tennessee.
Me either. I just hope Bud still has his raging hard-on for VY. Fisher leaving the AFC South would make this disaster of a season for the Texans a lot easier to stomach.
LOL Fresh start according to DD for both=Vince Young is a great QB and needs a different head coach. Fire Fisher.
LOL Seriously Donny. This is awesome. Vince Young is melting down and now DD is creating an alternate universe of facts in order to defend Vince without screaming "LEAVE VINCE ALONE!" Did DD even follow the NFL in the stretch between the Oilers leaving and Vince going to the Titans?
No, that is not what I am saying. I think that Bud Adams likes Vince, and because of that, he may side with him. I am not so sure that Fisher ever wanted to play Vince, and when the owner forced his hand last year, I am sure he was a bit pissed about it. Vince is not blameless, the dude has melted down and seems to be acting like a big cry baby..... I just think Fisher is not blameless either..... Let's just see what happens, once cooler heads prevail. DD
I've always read that Fisher is a player's coach. On one of the NFL shows, they were talking about how if Randy Moss can't get along with Fisher, he can't get along with anybody. Haynesworth didn't clash with Fisher, but he sure is clashing with Shannahan. Vince is just a special [head] case.
What's strange is that he has seemingly proven that he can throw in this league. No, he hasn't racked up big passing yards, but they are decent passing stats. He has steadily improved his QBrating. That was supposed to be knock on him- his arm, not his head.
Wow DD I can't believe how bad you are defending VY even to the point of rewriting history. I have never heard of Fisher clashing with players like he has with VY before. All those players you listed left for a lot more money. Fisher was so bad that Kearse came back and Haynesworth is willing to come back also. I'm not saying Fisher is without some fault but VY needs to grow up. He isn't going to last much longer in the NFL until he learns how to deal with things when they get tough.
Yeah Im as big of VY fan as the next man but he actin like a puzzy...I say trade him for Leinart and Orvlosky ....At least then we can sell some tickets
Sadly I did a piss poor job of making my point, Fisher has clashed with players before, but not nearly to this level..... I am not defending Vince, I am saying there are always 2 sides to every argument and let's wait to hear what both sides are.... DD
Here comes the backtracking. The image you've been painting of Fisher is that he was a tyrant that ran good players out of town because of his monster ego.
Good lord, the leaping to conclusions on this board is staggering. I like Fisher, like him a lot, wish he was the coach of the Texans.... I am saying that sometimes coaches clash with players, and this looks to be one of those cases. Now, it may be all Vince, but do you really think that? It always takes 2 to have an argument, and if you think Fisher liked having his owner tell him to play Vince no matter what, then you are mistaken. Let's just see what happens......I would not be surprised if they released Vince, nor would I be surprised if they fired Fisher, or even reconcilled..... Bud Adams is crazy, you just never know what he is thinking. Oh, and I guess you guys were right, Fisher has NEVER EVER clashed with a player before....EVER.... DD
