I think the Wonderlic proved he had mental problems. If you score a 6 you're technically mentally handicapped.

Vince's QB rating this year is higher than any of McNair's except for 2003. His QB rating last year was equal to McNair's career rating. While he had limited passes this year due to the structure of the Tennessee offense and his injuries, he was nothing short of damn good this year when in the game.

His problems this year have been attitude related.

Besides homers of teams, its those certain individuals who tend to be provocative and agitators that for some reason they ALWAYS like to get behind the polarizing figure. I don't know why that is. They like to get behind the Tupac and Vince Young types projecting out their own bravado in people's faces. Then call it "swag"

And they always are working against "hate". Or you can't "stop them" from "shining" I hate that crap. Who the heck even cares about YOU (the person doing that) in the first place. Yes THOSE people absolutely RUIN it. Vince Young is one of my favorite college players ever, and these people ALMOST have tarnished that liking, and at times have.

Vince doesnt need those fans or maybe even football right now. He needs what you said, a change of scenery and a better support system that REALLY cares about his well being. Fisher isnt equipped to handle it, it happens. Time to cut ties

There is no doubt Vince is moody, but Fisher needs to be a little better at managing talented players to get the most out of them.

He has bailed on a lot of malcontented guys that were pretty danged good....

What did Fisher do here that was in the wrong? How did he mismanage?

And what malcontents did he bail on that went on to great things?

Travis Henry... LenDale White... Albert Haynesworth... ?

he's a game manager. that's it. it's not VY's team one bit. nobody on that team looks at him like a star or a game changer or anything like that.

he's an AVERAGE player (flashes of greatness, but also flashes of mediocrity). and compound that with a b****y attitude, a coach like fisher and a veteran team like the titans will bite your head off

nobody on that roster, up and down the organization, has ONE OUNCE of respect for vince right now. he's going to be traded.

Being armchair psychologist here, hate to say it but will, its a symptom of what happens when you're raised by an absentee father who's done jail time, you're raised in a tough neighborhood and its just mother and grandmother trying to make you tough.

He's throwing a hissy fit cuz well, you know...he's not feeling the love cuz he's probably never had the chance to adapt around the sensibilities of a stable household. Similar to the stereotypical accounts of girls not ever getting daddies love and then turning to adult lifestyles, maybe Vince still feels that emptiness.

a lot of athletes have that background: raised by their moms only with no male influence. none of them acts like a girl like vince does on a regular basis.

sometimes i wonder if he took his birth control daily or not

Maybe the Titans can cut VY and he can come to Houston to play Corner or safety or linebacker or defensive tackle or call the plays for the defense or some ****.

Maybe Bud fires Jeff Fisher because he loves VY. Then the Texans hire Jeff Fisher!!

You know, Jeff Fisher played linebacker if I recall.

Maybe he can play middle linebacker for the Texans.

He played Safety but was on IR during the Bears superbowl team, IIRC.

Best case scenario for Texans fans.

Best case for any team in the division would be for Bud to choose VY.

According to Wyatt, Young was “throwing out expletives” under his breath as Fisher talked to the team. Young was told to quiet down. After Young quickly dressed, he started to leave the locker room and Fisher told him not to walk out on his teammates.

Young’s response, which Wyatt is paraphrasing: “I’m not running out on teammates, I’m running out on you.”

And . . . that’s all she wrote for Young with Fisher, right?

The two men apparently exchanged more words before Young left. Then came Titans safety Michael Griffin‘s fruitless (and shirtless) run to retrieve Young. Griffin knew what an important moment it was.

man this guy needs ron artest's psychiatrist

if you don't like your coach, take it up with coach personally. you don't disrespect him in front of the whole team

and then to leave one of your teammates hanging when he's trying to salvage the situation for you?

someone needs to slap him straight

Fishers record 2006-2009 without VY starting 14-18
Fishers record 2006-2009 with VY starting 26-9

Fisher supposed to meet with Bud Adams tmrw at 7am in Houston.

There is also a lot of confusion as to whether or not Vince is really needing "season ending" surgery as Fisher suggested. If Vince is healthy enough to play this wknd, and Fisher sticks with Rusty Smith, Vince is all but gone.

As a longtime Oiler/Titans/Vince fan I am sick of the drama with Fisher and sick of VY acting like a 5 yr old. Fisher has been with the organization since the Oilers, but he has never been a "players" coach and hasnt propelled the team deep into the playoffs since their Superbowl season. He is stubborn, and has refused to accept Vince as the QB until he was forced to by Bud Adams. At the end of this season, when its decided whos sticking with the Titans (and why/how it plays out) I guess I will have to make a decision as to whether or not I want to continue as a Titans fan. This is the first time I have actually considered to not continue to be a fan of the Titans, and know I will get plenty of crap if I do.

The great part about this thread is it starts in 2006, and there is lots of drama all the way until today...I even re-read this thread (not all 106 pages), and there have been plenty of embarrassing moments for me (in particular my guarantee of a win against Miami last year)

As hard as its been for the Texan fans this year, as a Titans fan, today is probably the worse feeling in a long time. Go from 5-2 with the way they were playing, to acquiring randy moss, to the VY meltdown 2.0 or 3.0? This is a new low...

Ah, pointless statistics. All those number say is that VY is better than who ever is replacing him. Being better than a backup QB ain't a huge accomplishment.

If the option is going out and getting a sane, decent #1 QB rather Kerry Collins or another backup QB then replacing Vince becomes a more palatable option.
