How you can defend Vince after what went down today just solidifies my point.

Nothing but a victim, woe-is-me act... man up and stop making excuses.

I agree. I don't follow this topic that closely on clutchfans but seems like the excuse is that "haters" are just responding to "fanboys." Seems like the people who get all worked up the most are the haters. Simple glance at the poster count has DonnyMost near the top - that's a lot of energy just to respond to someone's fans.

    VY is childish
    Fisher is stubborn

Not defending what VY did, but he has been playing well on the field.

In the end, the QB who gives the team the best chance to win should start!

If I'm Bud Adams, I'm asking myself this.

Who will win me more games over the next 5-10 years?

    Vince Young
    or
    Jeff Fisher

I don't think you can say with a straight face that VY is the answer to that question.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, if the Titans fire Fisher, the happiest people to hear that will be in Houston, Indianapolis, and Jacksonville. Careful what you wish for, Titans fans.

I will blame him for his hires and maybe he should lose his job, but he has built an elite offense. When you can just go down the field against the jets the way he did at the end, that is pretty special, and that was with AJ being on reves island. Go hire wade phillips and competent GM and let him be head coach.

    Players win games not coaches.

So yes, I can with a straight face say VY will win more games.

Your assessment of Fisher is off in my opinion. I've been a fan of the Oilers/Titans for ... let's just say 16 years/seasons. If you enjoy ultra conservative 8-8 football with bang your head against the wall play-calling, then Fisher is your guy.

He is very rigid and he has his players playing from a place of fear/assignments, rather than instinct. He has no huevos, and doesn't take risks.

It will always be his way or the highway, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I don't think he has ever showed humility in the setting of NFL coach other than putting on the Peyton Manning jersey. And this act gets VERY old.

Great players win games. VY is only average.

Vince was having a solid game -- he injures his thumb and can't go back in and play... so he flips out, curses the coach, and leaves after his team barely loses in OT.

I think VY needs to go treat his mental health issues - then return to football.

Except he doesn't get the opportunities. He has fewer pass attempts than michael vick who has missed like 4 games. Rusty smith is not the answer.

Unfortunately he might be the answer next week. I wonder how many yards he will throw on the Texans' secondary.

Whatever happened and whoever is to blame, everyone needs a fresh start. It's pretty clear the Fisher-VY relationship is not healthy and just needs to end.

The difficult thing with a team taking on Vince is that you sort of have to build an offense around him. But since he seems to have a wide variety of health issues, that's hard to commit to. It was always a concern with Vick/Schaub in Atlanta too. Will be interesting to see if he lands with another team or, as KC suggested, he needs to take him off to get his head straight.

    Eh.

I'd believe that if I hadn't seen a coach literally lose games for the Texans consistently over the last 3 years.

I think Fisher has totally screwed it up with Vince.

If you want to have VY as your QB, you need to set it up for him to freelance, and run a bit .....

If you are too strict, you are wasting him, he is not a pocket passer, he is a play maker.

Fisher and VY do not mix, and Fisher is a good coach, but he also is not a championship coach.

He is like JVG in basketball, too controlling and non trusting of his players.

Well, I just heard about this latest VY issue, and I agree 100% with you KingCheetah, Vince has mental problems. This is really sad, because the guy is one of the most exciting players in the NFL. I don't blame Fisher at all, he's the coach, and the players are supposed to follow his orders. I'm not a fan of the Titans, and I'm not a big VY fan, but I am a football fan and I would like to see Vince on the field doing what he does best. Come on Vince, grow up and get your act together.

Good points you have brought up.

However, Kubiak is so NOT entertaining. His actual personality at least. Even the on field "excitement" seems like a bland west coast offense script he learned from with no instinct, in a "What Would Mike Shanahan Do" way.

the thing is vince never showed he was that great to begin with. fisher does allow some freedom (ala with mcnair) but you have to have a track record.

VY is not only inconsistent, but he has no track record of anything to base off.

JVG did give tmac freedom b/c tmac was a great player at the time. all coaches of any level will give their star players some leeway if they were good.

VY is an average player at best so far in his career; he hasn't done anything to deserve "coddling."

So is he going to head back to the bench for a while, take a nice long break, and come back during an easy stretch of games to reel off a few straight wins to get the won-loss as a starter mojo going again??
