i think it was a decent outing for Vince. The learning curve is always steep for QBs. The one and probably only thing that I hate are his fumbles. He seems to lose the ball on a consistent basis going back to his UT days.

If you hate Texas, then you can't be a true Houstonian.

That's why I'm rooting for Kubiak so much. He's a Houstonian and a Texan. Just like Vince Young. All of you rooting against Vince Young might as well be a Yankee, or worse, an Okie.

Wow!! This might be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard, you sir are a moron.

I guess that makes any Houston athlete (who wants a shot at a pro career) not a "true Houstonian." I have nothing against UH and I'm glad to see their recent success, but if you are a top highschool athlete, you don't go to UH.

Omar- By your standards, can you name me one 1 "true Houstonian" athlete that was born here, went to UH, and then went on to play for a Houston team?

You guys may be pro-Houston in some ways, but you are Texas-haters and America haters.

To me today was great for football (not baseball obviously). Texas greatest pro team, which happens to be America's team, won because their offense rolled. And Texas and Houstons greatest college football player got his pro debut, moved his team a couple of times, and kept his vastly overmatched team close for a half. The Houston Texans won also. Nice football trifecta there, whats the worry.

I watched the game. Young was making plays the 1st half. He was making plays Collins sure as heck wouldn't have made. He wasn't throwing super accurate, but fairly accurate, and mostly good decisions. His 1st half INT was as much his WRs fault and being out faught by Arron Glenn than anything VY did.

2nd half after the Boys got a big lead Young did not play well. Not that there was much anyone other QB could have done. The game was out of reach because the Titans couldn't slow Dallas's pass or run, not because of VY mistakes. But yes VY has some major adjustments to make as a pro QB and forces too many plays not recognizing the defenders speed, who couldda imagined a rookie QB would have such issues.

Overall Young did not look bad and defintely looked better than Kerry Collins. Anyone who thinks merely looking at his stat line in his 1st start versus one of the best defenses of the league didn't d some very good things on the filed didn't watch. Another tidbit, all the talk of Ware and Roy W getting a hold of him and killing him, didn't happen. VY looks elusive and avoiding big hits just like he did in college, defenders are just going to hope to bring him down however they can--forget them trying to measure up this slithery and big dude for a big hit.

One final tidbit from around the league, VY is the 1st of the Heisman finalist of last year to get a TD--one of them is still 0 for scores in 8 games where he has played a lot. Also, the last two Heisman winners also had fumbles while there team lost today. Just in case anyone is curious. And look for Leinart to start next week, Warner looks cooked as a player (and as a leader) and I think as with Young, Arizona's teammates might just play better with ML.

I'm trying to think of one. I'd say Clyde since he retired a Rocket, but I looked online and he was born in New Orleans. I don't know what age he moved to Houston.

I asked a friend that goes to UH and the closest he can think of is Lamar Lathon (played for UH and Oilers), but was born in Wharton, TX.

OK, the reason I ask is because a lot of people (not you) have criticized David Carr's stats this season saying that they don't mean much because his team was behind when he got them. If what you say is true, it would actually make Carr's stats even more impressive.

    Just thinking out loud. :)

Exactly...by Omar's standards, there is no such thing as a "true Houstonian" then.

Sorry...Larry went to play for the Bulls and the Bucks, he is an obvious traitor to the Houston community. :p

Well, that went about as expected.

There will be brighter days for VY, no doubt.

according to Omar, Earl Campbell isnt a real houstonian.
neither is HAKEEM, Hakeem was born in Nigeria.

Omar, Im the person in this universe that defines REAL and not REAL.
Vince Young is a REAL HOUSTONIAN.

    you.. ARE NOT!

He took Madison to the Division 2 State Quarterfinals.

They lost to Hightower, but beat some good teams on the way.
