Friday, 06/22/07 QB upset at Pacman Young charges Jones doesn't care about team By JESSICA HOPP Staff Writer One would think Titans quarterback Vince Young is used to the spotlight by now. Surrounded by media after Thursday's minicamp practice at Baptist Sports Park, the second-year pro said otherwise. "I am not used to having cameras in my face," he said. "I am not comfortable yet." Young looked at ease, however, as a crew from 60 Minutes kept close tabs on his first full practice of this week's minicamp, the team's final on-field work until training camp begins late next month. Limited on Tuesday and Wednesday by what Coach Jeff Fisher called a "mild" calf strain, Young continued to wear a brace around his left leg on Thursday but did not appear hindered to any extent. Asked about his leg, Young responded in jest. "We good," he said. "Coach didn't kick me that hard so we all right." Disappointed in Pacman Young was not laughing, however, as he addressed the felony coercion charges against teammate Pacman Jones, who is serving a yearlong NFL suspension for conduct detrimental to the league on multiple occasions. "We want him to know these guys over here, we love him a whole lot, but we feel like he don't care about us right now," Young said. "At the same time, that's his issue. He has got to take care of his problem. We want him back here, to come back over here playing and making plays because he does a whole lot for our team, but as a team we are feeling like, 'Man, does he care about us over here?' " 'Pretty cool' Although Young was the subject of a reality series on BET last season, he was impressed that 60 Minutes came calling. The crew representing the venerable news magazine show would not say when the Young segment will air. "It's pretty cool that 60 Minutes wants to come down and interview me as well as learn my background, where I come from, about my family, and why I act why I act," Young said. "They've done their homework, there's no doubt," Fisher said. "They've dug up a lot of things that even was of interest to me." The Titans conclude their June minicamp today, but the session is closed to the media. http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070622/SPORTS01/706220429/1027
To call out Pacman Jones for the team takes leadership. He could have taken the easy "none of my business" route.
yes all 4-5 VY haters in houston end up being on this board saying 'hate hate hate' VY supporters ..regulate! this is cool, people should watch it because it will talk alot about growing up in the inner city in houston and rising to success.
C'mon...you put "Houston's VY" in the thread title. You KNOW you wanted to put this in the Houston Sports forum. Besides, it's really not up to you or me. Vince Young threads will go wherever Vince Young says they go
he kind of has the Charles Barkley grammar going. VY, the person...thumbs up! VY, the player...thumbs up! VY, the Titan...**** him and the horse he rode in on.
