No doubt, he would have had rafer's 2 turnovers - but would have made at least 4 free throws in the same span that rafer threw up a couple of cream puffs.

    :D

Anytime I experience a game like that, I recall the study that showed that when your teams wins, men get a testosterone boost (which btw makes you feel pretty good) and when they lose.. well...

Guess thats why you can feel pretty much emasculated after a game like that.

I probably would have done the same thing JVG did. Stick with the guys that built the 19 point lead. You know they are capable of scoring against the Spurs.

You also know the VSpan is a turnover waiting to happen, which was the last thing we needed during our meltdown.

If anything, I would have gone with Synder more than 9 minutes and taken Howard out. At least Synder's able to get to the rim and create contact - stop the bleeding with a few free throws.

Or split Howard's minutes between Padgett and Novak.

    Then again, hindsight is 20/20.

when we were up it wouldnt have been the worst thing to give billy and novak some minutes, or when it was happening, maybe a three here and there we could have survived just barely

I would have inserted someone in when the team quit competing, and JVG should have been calling timeouts to stop the run.

Absolutely. I couldn't believe he didn't call one timeout during that run at the end of the third.

Why would you call a time out with seconds remaining..?

while i would love to see vspan play, putting in an already turnover-prone vspan was not gonna help us out last night against the D the spers were bringing in the 2nd half. you're crazy if you think that was the time to give vspan a chance.

Anything would have been better than what Rafer was in the 2nd half.

the perfect time to bring in vspan (and novak) last night would've been some time early in the 3rd quarter when we still had a large lead and momentum.

that's when JVG should be trying a few new players while giving our starters some much needed rest.

from what i have seen of v-span he is very much a sence of the moment type of player. he seems very poised and confident when playing againts big time teams in big time moments. I think if he was given a chance he would have suprised alot of people.

But i understand where jvg is comeing from his job is on the line. Hell rick adelman made the playoffs last year and still did get to keep his job.

    Exactly right.
I would try any guards other than a scared Skip-TO-to-TO. Well, JVG sucks.
