That is ridiculous...............and appears I am not the one that is "blind." (For the record I am in independent and have been)
I LOVE the fact that the republican base for so many years disliked McCain because he was a "maverick", but now he's running on that because Bush f'ed up that bad. Talk about hypocrisy.
CBS Instapoll of undecided voters - Biden in a slaughter (46-20) BUT it didn't sway too many votes. It's a damned VP debate though, of course it didn't.
OK, thanks. I was totally confused by that, but thought it might be because I was slightly distracted. What comes out is that she wants the constitution expanded to grant her potential job(VP) more power. She said she agrees with the Cheney model of VP. That's not much of a strict conservative constitutionalist. I may be misunderstanding weslinder's political philosophy, but it seems like supporters of Palin who believe her to be a small govt. type might be troubled by this revelation She also stated flat out that she had no intention of answering the questions and proceeded not to answer them. As for Biden he did well when he gave an emotional response about almost losing his son and the tragedy involved there. Also Biden did great when put the lie to McCain's Maverick title. And Palin had no answer.
Well I can't believe I was able to watch an entire debate Actually, Biden came across as a career politician- very polished- I wouldn't trust him. But he seems much better suited to be a President than Obama. ( and for me that isn't a plus) Palin reminded me of Obama- fresh, new, not a politician at all. So, McCain and Biden are really more of the same as far as I can tell. And Palin and Obama represent new ideas as far as politics. That being said without looking at the basic and fundemental issues. I would say that Palin would make a better president than McCain and Obama doesn't need Biden. I would vote for a Obama / Palin ticket. Biden is more of the same and I think that indicates to me that Obama's change message will be handled by the Washington power brokers. McCain is more of the same - ditto Plus I don't agree with the platforms of either party. Who is most for the unborn children? If I vote I will not vote for any candidate that funds abortions.
subject being discussed: foreign policy and the war overseas Palin: yeah but let's switch gears to energy dependency because it is important.. coming from a huge energy state I know all about it! I personally believe that U.S Americans are unable to do so because some people out there don't have maps and our education like such as in Iraq and south africa like such as a bridge to no where. however, like such as thanks but no thanks me and my mavrick are gonna energize the ticket! shout out to the homies up in da Alaska yo!
Come on, no one watches MSNBC, especially Olbermann, next someone will be telling me to turn on Rush's radio program.................
And I like Obama and I like Palin If Obama wasn't a Washington politician and he could change most of his policies I think he would make a great leader, he has charisma Palin would be a good leader also, but I think she would be better off staying in Alaska. I would rather hunt elk and drill for oil than work with the sleeze balls in Washington.
Don't get your panties in a wad http://aolsvc.merriam-webster.aol.com/dictionary/nuclear There's more than one way of saying it... it's English after all, which means we bastardize all the old languages as well as our own
to be fair, i have to hold my nose to vote for anyone. i don't believe the empire we live in values life anywhere near as much as i wish it would....whether it be unborn life in america or people across oceans whose numbers of dead we don't even bother to count when we talk about the cost of a war. i'm all for jesus for president. all for it. until then, i'm stuck with these choices. and i won't pretend that either are going to save us.
That was my big thing, too. Why is she getting praised for quite literally refusing to answer Biden's inquiry about McCain's push for deregulation, for example?
Watched my recording of it right now. Palin is sticking to talking points and fluff as expected, not answering any questions. It will work fine I'm sure. Biden is speaking to Palin's points and actually answering the questions. Probably not a good idea. If you're not interested in results or facts, you'll eat Palin up tonight. Biden probably put some people to sleep, despite being completely sharp as a tack. Just like we all predicted, as long as Palin didn't drool on the podium and poop her pants she'd be considered an Einstein. Bar lowered. Mission accomplished. I have a higher bar for America, however. Thanks, but no thanks, Governor!
I'm curious as to how Palin would make a good president though? She's been laughable in all of her interviews thus far and barely held ground in the debate itself. How is she qualified to handle one of the largest countries in the world?
Darn, I was really eager to get your take. And even when I disagree with your politics I respect your integrity and the thought you put into the positions you hold. If you to get a chance to hear it, I'd be interested to hear your take. I'm curious more than I am looking to argue about it.
MadMax, I want to believe in these politicians, but I will believe the message of Jesus. visit the poor, the prisoner and the sick (of the whole world) tell all people the good news of forgiveness; clothe the naked, give drink to the thirsty. love unconditionally; do unto others as God wants others to treat you; love what God stands for with all your heart, it is better to give than to receive; go sell all you have and give to the poor and follow Me. While governments ruled, Jesus served. Whoever gets elected; I promise to pray for them. That is my vote.
