Palin will own this debate watch Biden walk his way into this trap. Its funny people think Palin will be ripped to shreds when you have no idea how quickly Palin will hijack this debate and turn it into a marathon of stories, thoughts, phrases, nonsense etc... Debate 101 class will teach you that the best way attack the opposition is to probe the other party and use it against them. Good luck to Biden trying to navigate through the blizzard of words that circle endlessly which Palin is about to unleash on him.

Palin's idea of an answer to a simple question:

For a guy that looks like Kucinich, that's a definite win.

IF ONLY... I think Sarah's head would spin around...

The question Couric asked was about Court rulings that Palin disagreed with, and we all know that McCain thinks that Boumediene was one of the worst rulings in history and Palin thought it was cute to knock Obama for his opposition to Boumediene by misstating his position in her convention speech. So, here’s a question for the VP debate moderator to ask: “Gov. Palin, you said in your convention speech that Sen. Obama wanted to read terrorists their rights. Why do you say that, and how do you interpret Boumediene v. Bush to have anything to do with reading suspects their rights?” Or maybe keep it simple: “Gov. Palin, does habeas corpus apply in cases concerning suspected terrorists, and do you think the Supreme Court was wrong to grant suspected terrorists due process?”

I'm hoping that Sarah Palin feels the red flush that all first year law students felt when called on in Con Law.

Mrs. Palin. Please tell us about Boumediene v. Bush...

    you seem... UNPREPARED...

Ditto. She's not unattractive by any stretch but I'm not having any fantasies either.

Kucinich did very well for himself. He's 61 and Elizabeth is only 30 (27 when they married). Dude may be an elf but he's a pimp elf.

Does anyone have that picture of Bush that seemed to indicate he was wearing a wire during his debates (presumably to receive tips/hints from his handlers since he was too stupid to answer coherently on his own)? I wouldn't be surprised if the repubs tried to pull something along those lines...

Tempting, but too risky. In a way Biden can't lose except for the expectations game in which there are little expectations for Palin among many.

One thing to think of is that there are folks who watch the debates who do not watch TV New (maybe just Murdoch's Fake News) don't use the internet (like McCain), don't read newspapers and so they only know what the saw at the GOP Convention.. They don't know about Couric or any other news and assume Palin is a typical governor with knowledge of affairs outside her PTA, village or recent Alaskan controversies..

Way too much is being made of this debate - it will be relatively irrelevant. Palin will do fine. She'll come out swinging from the start and if stumped will resort to generalities and ideological mantra. Joe has everything to lose here.

This getting near do-or-die time for the McCain camp. If they are serious about winning i'm sure they will have used the utmost care in preparing Palin for this debate. Sure, it's just a VP debate when push comes to shove but McCain chose Palin to win the election. He simply cannot afford to have her up on the grand stage looking inept and confused.

My prediction is she will perform extremely well, stand her ground and try to shed the "overwhelmed" vibe people are trying to brand on her.

I don't know if I would go that far. She'll be incoherent and will fail to give any type of substantive response, but my point is that way too much is being made of the impact of this upon the race. Sure, it makes for great comedy, but at the end of the day, there exists a sharp impermeable cultural dichotomy. Frankly put, most youtube aficionados and amateur bloggers were already leaning Obama as it were (relatively speaking) and the rest of the population in the rural heartland doesn't really give a damn in it's state of oblivion. That's what's being overlooked. It won't make one damn of a difference, atleast not enough to offset the support she has already gained for the ticket.

I hope they introduce them MMA/ UFC style and have a razor barbed cage with podiums in the middle -- and pools of fire.
