I heard it came from a Budweiser lab after their CEO looked up Corona in a Spanish dictionary and wanted to be the undisputed King of Beers.

Considering where I keep hearing these theories... a couple of points need to be made.

Regardless of whether the virus was accidentally released from a lab or from a wet market; it has zero bearing on the fact that the President wasted months of preparation, fired the pandemic response group, lied about the severity of problem and failed to provide any leadership.

The pandemic is lasting longer than it would have otherwise because of his complete failure to be proactive. There is economic consequences to his lack of accountability and we will pay the price.

You can decode the genetic code but still it's knowledge by authority - your trust in the decoding itself. I'm serious, if you take that route, ultimately everything is down to some root of trust and quite meaningless practically. Ultimately, this argument lead to no trust of anything. (I'm just arguing :) but I've seen this argument used much before especially when it comes to religion and the almighty cause)

Your last point though sort of explains why the blame game here is a distraction because:

-We don't know, and don't have the evidence
-We know this did not benefit the villain in this case

There's about a million other things we could gripe about with China that can be compartmentalized to that argument. In THIS ARGUMENT it serves against our interest to just b**** and moan about China when it just distracts on what THE US needs to do now, and down the road to prevent this from ever happening again. Yes.... part of that is related to China, but that is going to be working with WHO, UN, etc. to force China to completely shut down wet markets, and have more foreign experts in the country to early detect future outbreaks. Has nothing to do with whining about Chinese government conspiracy theories.

Also purposefully releasing it... IN WUHAN would be one of the dumbest purposeful releases of a bioweapon I can think of. It would be like the CDC releasing a virus in downtown Atlanta in order to hurt Russia for political purposes.

I was playing the you can rationalize anything game with you.

I don't believe they create it in lab. I believe it's natural. It might also have been accidentally "released" from their biolab - and if that's the case, they need to answer to the world at some point. Not now when we have a crisis to fight, but they need to be held accountable. The China fight should have been done back when we have the Intel. When TWN was raising the alarm (and guess what, TWN actually sent a team there, on the ground to do their own investigation because... yea, no one trust China and more importantly, we should verify for ourselves).

Look, if Trump admin believe in science, in experts, didn't take that CDC team away from China, didn't take away the pandemic team, we likely (yes, I said likely) would have raised to max level of prep and be much much better off today. We didn't because this admin is stupid, doesn't listen to experts, takes extraordinary risks and have a sense of arrogant that they can solve any problem on their own timeline.

Dude like this dork and others are buried their heads in the sand for a reason. You called him out correctly but there’s more to it I feel. Why are they willfully giving the ChiCom bastards a free pass?

In case you haven’t noticed, the ChiCom has been at war with us since the late 80s and not a single bullet had been fired. It is time for us to wake up pay them back in kind.

Reknown french virologist Luc Montagnier who received the 2008 Nobel prize for discovering the HIV virus in 1982, claims that the Covid19 virus is man made.

According to him since 2000 Wuhan's lab is specialised in coronaviruses and Covid19 shows many similarities with HIV and it was an attempt for an HIV vaccine, that by accident escaped the lab.
He currently works as a fulltime professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China.

I don't gaf about american micropolitics. I certainly do not consume FOX or other ultra right news.

I believe there is very very good reason to suspect that the bat virus parent of Covid19 was released from Wuhan's lab.
There is also a good chance that the bat parent virus jumped on a pangolin lab animal IN the lab.

Not only they were specialised in studying coronaviruses for 20 years, not only they had security issues but also China is censoring and banning any chinese scientific study on the origins of the virus. Why? They have things to hide.

To dismiss the possibillity of a lab accident is incredibly naive and foolish.
Do you know how many lab accidents have been there in the past? In the US too?

It seems that 30% of clutchfanners may believe it came from a lab. Of course, that does not mean it was manmade.

Why we believe anything China says is beyond me.

I would be very curious to hear more about this. I'm no virology expert but I'm not sure how similar the Coronavirus SARS-2 is to the HIV virus. From my own understanding is that while HIV has a similar shape to Coronaviruses and uses RNA it is in a class of retroviruses while the SARS-2 virus isn't. the method of transmission and infection is radically different also.

I am very curious then how a vaccine for HIV could lead to SARS-2 virus. Even if they were engineering a virus to be used experimentally why create something so much different than HIV?

You are a conspiracy theory lunatic, with all due respect. Also, if you paid any attention to history at all, you would realize that Communists are essentially an extinct species.

    Largely this.

There is very compelling evidence that this might've been an accidental release but that evidence is still circumstantial. Right now the hard science points towards a natural origin but that doesn't mean it couldn't have been introduced and spread by human actions from lab or market. I agree though there is an interest in finding out if the lab was dangerously lax in safety. It is in the PRC's own interest to address that and have no problem with applying pressure to them to come clean about it.

All of that said the problem with conspiracy theories is always the difficulty of proving a negative. With very complex organizations like governments there will always be things that don't seem right. This is something to look into but without direct evidence I'm not sure we will get definitive proof. At the minimum whether it is proven or not that this was a release from the lab safety and security measures should be tighter at any facility like that.

Where it came from though doesn't change the fact that we have to fight it now or how we have been fighting it so far.

That virologist has said some batshit crazy things in the last 10 years. Like that DNA creates electromagnetic waves and this is the way to cure all diseases.
He either is a genius mad scientist or has developed dementia.
    Probably a demented genius.

Might not want to ride the snarky side to hard considering we don't have any clue the origin of the virus and China almost certainly has a biological warefare plan against the USA.
