I can't believe Love lost!!! What kind of world do we live in if Love can't win Even just on the strength of their first 2 albums they should have gone further. And the Sly Family Stone vs. Talking Heads matchup was unfair to both bands. They should have met later. Otherwise good eclectic mix of bands
Missed the vote. (thought you were still making up brackets?? oh well!) Here's how I would have voted; BRACKET 'A' 1) The Velvet Underground -Lou rocks, and they were a ground-breaking group. 16) Fugazi 8) Montrose 9) Flaming Lips 5) The New York Dolls 12) The MC5 4) XTC 13) Big Star 6) Sonic Youth 11) 311 3) The Pretenders -Easy. 14) Weezer 7) Abba 10) Three Dog Night -(they were actually good in concert. a friend of mine gave me a 3rd row center ticket to a concert in Houston, back when they were a "big deal," (and the ticket was free!) and I was surprised. Great harmonies, and a tight group) 2) Janes Addiction 15) Sigur Ros BRACKET 'C' 1) Yes -Terrific group and better live. 16) Love 8) Mott The Hoople -Just blew you away in concert... should have been named "The Pretenders," lol! 9) Built to Spill 5) The Buzzcocks 12) The Butthole Surfers 4) The 13th Floor Elevators -Who the **** is "Death Cab for Cutie??" The Elevators should be fighting for "best in bracket." 13) Death Cab For Cutie -Again, who the **** is this?? 6) Sly and the Family Stone Put on a groovy show, but have to give it to the Heads. 11) The Talking Heads 3) Devo 14) Pavement 7) The Temptations 10) Bauhaus 2) King Crimson -They lost? They lost?? 15) The Dead Kennedys That's how I would have voted. Sorry if I missed it. Guess I better check the other brackets. The Jimi Hendrix Experience is somewhere, right?
*gulp* - what kind of mood are you in, Deckard?? BTW - never heard from you - email me through the board.
