Subtomic, the Stooges made it in - next round.

Gang of Four (did you know they are touring together again?) and Wire were on my initial list, but there were just too many bands in the end.

I would think that since TOOL went up against the Beatles in round 1 of the other tourny, they'd be in this one but alas no.

Thanks for playing Fatty. I know it must be a struggle for one who rarely ventures beyond the comfy confines of Back in Black by AC/DC ;)

    Larry Graham invented "slap bass".

I'm a HUGE Sly Stone fan btw. He is/was a genius. "Small Talk" is one of my most cherished albums ever.

Who the hell are these bands?

I'll vote for the bands I know at least a song or two by - can't say that for most of these groups on here.

Ok, we have some very tight competitions here, which I really love. The Pretenders and Weezer are tied as are the Buzzcocks and BH surfers and Abba and Three Dog Night. There are a few others hanging in the balance pending the following votes.

Manny, TheTemptations are running away with their first matchup, and to think, you thought they did not belong
    ;)

I don't understand it. The Temptations may or may not belong in this category. I do love the Temptations, and they may be overall a more influential band.

But in the Alt. Band category I am surprised Bauhaus doesn't have more votes. They are pioneers of any kind of goth movement, predecessors of Love and Rockets and descendents of Bowie, T Rex, etc.

They should be running away with it.

    In addition they play instruments.
