You proven my points...if Morey is so good with his trades, then why is Adelman praised for winning with almost no talents. Facts of the matter is that Morey screwed up so bad that he needed to fired Adelman to hide that fact that he's been CHANGING the roster like there's no tomorrow. Now, Morey declares that we NEED CHANGE!!! What is change, Morey? Rebuilding/Tanking...so much like every failed GM do when they can't find talents.
1) Because winning seasons aren't good enough, we're trying to win a championship. To win a championship we do have to make changes, and Morey was NOT free to make changes, because Adelman did not give significant playing time to many of the players Morey brought in to improve the team. 2) Because Adelman didn't really nurture and build them up. Bud is nothing special, Adelman tried to ignore PatPat and unneccesarilly sent him to the D-League because he liked Jordan freaking Hill more at the time, and Scola would be Scola no matter who coached him. Ill give you that he helped Hayes' and Lowry's games, but that alone is not enough to keep him, especially since he has a track record of not wanting to develop many of the other players Morey has brought in. 3) He's an "EPIC FAIL" because he hasn't won a championship within his first 5 years of being a GM? That's an "EPIC FAIL" at attempting to use logic. And at what point has Morey ever done anything resembling tanking? Point to one move that has made us a worse team. He's not tanking at all with his changes, Morey is making the moves he believes will most quickly bring us a title.
and who would you hire to replace morey? Viva El Sueno - methinks that you're in some drug induced sueno.
I think alot of people are overestimating Adleman, do people really think where going to crater? If fact alot of fans here overrate alot of things, superstars, rudy gay, just to make some fake outrage, just wow
And the Celtics? They've had just as much, if not slightly more, roster turnover than the Rockets the past 2 years. (30 according to Morey, 32 according to Hayesfan)
We dropped one head with the guillotine. Dropping the other is mob insanity. At least give him a year and a half of lottery tanking before you light your pitchforks. Morans.
You can trade all you want, but lets have a team identity and make trades toward that goal. The thing that bothers me about Adelman's departure is that they don't quite know what they want to do with this team... we got candidates from Sikma and Turner to Woodson, Brown and SVG. Totally different backgrounds and basketball systems when they've run a team.
I respectfully disagree. Morey got almost nothing for TMac. We all need TMac needed to be traded when he gave up in that Toronto game. As GM, you gotta have balls to make gutsy trade to get talents, like CD traded away Thorpe for Clyde...CD had the balls to trade away a popular star in a defending champ team for new talent that can get the team to the next step. That's the job of the GM. Rebuilding/tanking is a sorry excuse for every failed GM who couldn't put together a championship team.
How about facts to back up your big mouth instead of name calling? We're not in high school...at least I am not.
Because the talent Adelman won with is ridiculously underrated. We're not playing with a starting lineup of Rafer Alston, Derek Anderson, Ryan Bowen, Clarence Weatherspoon, and David Andersen. We've got a roster stacked deep with top notch role players, most of whom were acquired by Morey. They're all quality players and more than capable of being a solid team, and they would be a great team if they got to play with a superstar. And there's no way you can blame Morey for us not having a superstar, it's hard to get one when a large chunk of your cap is spent up on a player who can't play. We act like it's some kinda miracle for a coach to get his team to a winning record without any superstars, yet Memphis, Denver, Philly, and Atlanta are all playing in the playoffs without a superstar. And none of those teams are significantly more talented than the Rockets. This team is not as undertalented as many would have you believe, and it did not over-achieve as much as some people like to think.
you're either gonna get no response from the "fire" people...or stupid ones.. at least so far that's been the case...
Morey was brought in in the first place because SOMEONE had to clean up the mess that CD made with all his gutsy moves. Giving Moochie and Cato their deals were certainly gutsy. Isiah was also a very gutsy GM.
Those are the names being thrown out there by the local media as the top candidates because they're the biggest known names available, but Im not real sure any of those guys are going to be strongly considered. They may be brought in as part of a broad search by Morey, but Ive got the feeling based on listening to him that he's looking for a less experienced guy and probably does have a pretty decent idea of what type of background he wants from his next coach, he just isn't coming out in the press and saying what he's looking for. Morey seems like too smart of a guy to make a move without planning on how to move forward.
Buddy, you might want to check the facts first before making things up. 1) Check how many times the last 2 yrs Joe Johnson/Al Horford have made the all-star team for Atlanta. 2) Check if Carmelo/Billups were on Denver roster for most of the year, plus Nene which Morey was going after 3) Check if Memphis's Randolf/Rudy Gay are any good 4) Rockets would be in the playoffs if they are in the East and have a better record than Phil.
