Seriously doubt JVG comes back, I've never heard of a headcoach going back to a team he was fired from. Plus think about it, JVG could elevate this team's defense but we still need actual offensive plays, which JVG isn't known for. The Rockets still think we can win a championship with just pick and rolls. For this current Rockets team I would lean more towards Mike D'antoni but even with him as our head coach I can't see the system working as well without a better PG option. (no offense to what Beverley brings to the team)
Although I'm not sure he'd be in my Top 3 (Ollie, JVG, Vogel), I'm surprised we haven't seen Sampson's name thrown out. He did well as a Coordinator on McHale's staff, and really seemed to have a bond with Harden, which is key. I think Harden respects Sampson and would actually listen to him.
I watched the news last night and they said Bill Self, Shaka Smart and Mike D'Antony are their favorite candidates right now. Lets hope Bill Self is the most favorable and wins it.

George Karl Kings were a bad fit to say the least, but besides that his coaching stops with the Sonics bucks and nuggets impressed me. His health might be and issue but this is my choice.

Woj ^^ -- "Joerger had been seeking permission to speak to the Kings and Houston Rockets, league sources said."
I think the best option is to bring in Joerger and Vogel as Co-Defensive assistants and Mike Dantoni to coach the offense. Then bring in JVG to coach the team's morale and chemistry and then have Kenny Smith or Sam Cassell to coach the entire staff and team. If Les can't get this done then he's not serious about winning.
More and more names continue to be added. I'd imagine after the news of Joerger, there will be a few more "Other" votes.
Might have to change my vote after hearing this. My beloved Wiener dog shares the same name:grin::grin:
Sam Amick: Another name and I need to look into this but I had been told that this was a possibility on the Houston front — and there are some names there — it's Joerger, Vogel, Van Gundy, I don't know where it stands with each guy specifically but Nick Nurse, who came up in the Rockets system as their D-League coach with RGV, now part of the Raptors' staff is another guy I'm hearing connected to the Rockets. We'll see what they do.
I could see Nurse as an assistant but cant see him as the Rockets HC with the other big names on he board. Track record says Les wants a coach with HC experience which now Joerger and Vogel have, which they didnt in 2011 when the Rockets last interviewed them.
So what ur saying is that the hierarchy is that 1. Joerger 2. Vogel 3. JVG 4. Nurse In this order. If knicks and kings move fast on vogel and joerger we et jvg. If grizzlies move fast on jvg we get nurse. Oh goodie. Morey better make the best desicion and it better be quick
Sorry for those hoping for a quick search. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Expect Rockets to speak with many people here.</p>— Calvin Watkins (@calvinwatkins) <a href="https://twitter.com/calvinwatkins/status/729729285880045568">May 9, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
