Really good take. Personally, I answered JVG, but I'd be great with him or Vogel. Either are going to bring the toughness and defensive intensity this team needs.
Yep, hence my comment about knowing absolutely nothing about him. I really don't follow much college basketball, and especially not Texas basketball. I'd never even heard the dude's name before I saw him listed as a candidate. Hopefully a mod can edit the poll.
I didn't vote for anyone, but the next head coach needs to instill discipline and hold the team accountable at all times, on both ends of the floor. He also needs to be flexible, have good relationships with capable assistants, while having true coaching authority. He needs to tell Morey and Les that players who can bring leadership are needed and that talent alone won't cut it. He also needs to let Morey know that analytics are ok, but he won't be afraid to go outside Morey's model. Les needs to buy into all this. Morey's interference in how to coach this team is also a factor in our decline. McHale wasn't the best choice, and an inexperienced Finch was being groomed for the head coach job. If Finch is so good, why is Morey going after so many people? It's obvious that he or anyone else on the outgoing staff aren't good enough for the job.
I vote for Morey. So you can see how dysfunctional this nutzo really is. 0 postgame interviews. A pf playing center, harden iso, brick bros again...
This has been up to a bunch of nonsense all this season. It's time they got a no nonsense coach. JVG is the answer.

I think Shaka Smart is a real intriguing candidate for coach. I think the dynamic with him and Harden, can be great for Harden. Not sure about Vogel, who seems really good with x's and o's, but I question his ability to connect on a personal level with superstars.
If you want to exit in the first round and rapidly decrease your scoring, Mr. Van Gundy is "right what you need".

I like jvg too much to want him to have to coach this team of half hearted quitters. This team deserves a different coach... Byron Scott! Really hoping Morey hire Bryon Scott lol, probably the only way to make this team entertaining
