Nope, I still think the team should sign Von because he is a proven NBA asset, but there is nothing I can do or say that will make it happen.

I would like Von back as a bench guy, but I have that gut feeling he will be gone.

I'm one of Von's biggest supporters, outside of DD of course, but he's all but gone.

Too much bad blood in the relationship.

He'll go to a team like NY or Charlotte and average 13-14 ppg in increased pt.

In NY, his numbers will be inflated, and that will only fuel the debate. My opinion is that he did something stupid, during a playoff game, and the Rockets should not reward that behavior with a pay raise. I would have brought him back for the minimum, take it or leave it. He's obviously going to leave it, and I'm perfectly OK with that.

See, this is what boggles my mind......sure he made an immature move in the playoffs, but so what?

Tons of players have tantrums...good coaches do not hold that against them and neither should we.

There must've been more going on behind closed doors. Wafer may have been constantly running his mouth to Adelman and acting disrespectful, maybe not, but I don't see why a "player's coach" would hold such a long grudge against a young player making a mistake early in his career.

Plenty of guys have blown a fuse in the heat of battle, and have been excused the next day. Things like that happen in a heated series with the defending conference champions.

The only difference between us is how much the Rockets should offer him, not whether they should bring him back. I agree with you on re-signing him, I just don't think his behavior deserves anything more than a minimal pay increase.
