That is the entire point to LOW risk moves. Not that they will all work, it is a given that most won't. And when they don't work, you lose very little. Hence low risk.

That's just the natural fan reaction when guys choose to leave their favorite team. If Wafer is a cancer, what does that make Tmac?

Who is throwing out terms like "He's a cancer, he's a cancer, they're all cancers?"

Terrell Owens is a cancer, Tracy Mcgrady is unmotivated, Ron Artest is an asset to a team as a 3rd option, but certainly not as a 1st option. Von Wafer is just an immature kid who needs to grow up.

And I'd be all for adding Chris Wilcox. He's a solid rebounder with a hint of an offensive game.

well he is a dumb player at all aspects of the game other than the fast break and inconsistent scoring. von finally got comfortable with his shot last year and good for him. that doesn't mean he displayed anything else that makes a person believe he can improve his team game.

One hell of a guy because he gave Wafer his chance. Wafer needs to thank McGrady for his opportunity because if he was healthy wafer would have did nothing but collect dust on the bench.

true but i think it is interest that morey didn't try to repeat this mistake again so far this off season. i think he realized that reaching for players on the decline has been a mistake (a low risk one) and now is trying to get TEAM players that are younger and more athletic.

I'll miss the Fro-Hawk, timely threes and the drives to the hoop.

I won't miss the disappearing act every few games, the bone headed plays that pop up from time to time and the vintage Kenny Smith matador defense Von liked to play.

Von Wafer Cons: Low-basketball IQ, too much energy, way too many bad shots

Yet, in a team that is rebuilding, getting a bunch of young guys together, he would have been a perfect fit. The run and gun style we are going to aproach could use a von wafer. He was an offensive spark. And his issues are ones that can be easily solved with time and good coaching.

    Someone called Wafer a cancer.

T-mac has been called a cancer numerous of times.

When Artest left I saw people call him a cancer.

I don't think any of them are cancers though you basically just described it, although I will say if Ron wasn't running the plays like it was rumored that is signs of being a cancer.

Cancer or not Terrell Owens still does his thing on the Field. I wouldn't mind having him on my team. Even tho im not a fan the Texans damn sure could have used him next to Andre.

Back to basketball though. How many PF's do we need. Joey Dorsey is our Chris Wilcox if you think about it. They both rebound and run the floor. If its true that the rockets are targeting Chris Wilcox then I think its save to say buh bye to Chuck Hayes

Has it been mentioned by the rockets that they had him above those guys? Or you're deducing by picks that were purchasable? Interesting.

Exactly. Thats what blows me away. If it had been Artest or T-Mac they would have been labeled a CANCER after that incident. When the cards were on the table in the playoffs Von lost his composure big time and hurt his team. You can't tell me that at the end of the season when all the coaches and management got together too evaluate each player, Vons emotional blowups were definetly the center of their conversations. The rockets made a huge statement about where Von stood with the team on draft night.

I think with Artest and Wafer it is a more boneheaded nature than anything.

That is why I alluded to the fact that Artest is an asset to a team as a 3rd option, but it would have been foolish move by Morey to bring him back when he's basically the best offensive threat on the court. I still think Morey trading for him was a good move, but of course nobody could have foreseen Yao and McGrady completely self destructing this fast.

McGrady's actions over the last 18 months could be described as suspect. Even the rest of the team seems to think of him as a joke. I still hesitate to label him as a "cancer", but I certainly think his behavior is detrimental to team chemistry. Not a cancer yet, but possibly a virus.

Wait until Von's first 20 point game this year and watch some people on here erupt. Remember the reaction when Gerald Green started well with the Mavs? Why didn't we keep Green, who is this Wafer chump.

And I wonder what happened to those people when Gerald Green wasn't even part of the Rotation. I guess they finally saw the light.

If Tmac is a virus, then lets call Ron Artest high blood pressure. He could become a heart attack at any second and just kill the team.

Off topic here, but kind of relevant to the topic of a "cancer"

This is the type of attitude that draws teams to signing a guy like Owens, who is the very definition of narcissism and egomania.

He behaves well for the first season, maybe even another one... but the honeymoon is over quickly and he divides a locker room quicker than a Tupac or Biggie Debate.

He's done it everywhere he's been and that is why nobody but a team desperate to put asses in seats like the Bills paid him decent money to come there. The production he puts up blinds judgment.

You think you want him on your team, and then it becomes evidently clear that his cons outweigh his pros.
