Hey, he put up with a quitter in Tmac and a knucklehead in Artest, every team needs a bit of a wild man....

I have a feeling Morey consulted Adelman about re-signing Wafer, and Rick opposed the idea.

I don't see any reason why we wouldn't offer the MLE to a young, uber-athletic two-guard, especially with Tracy out for the beginning of the season.

it may or may not be that complicated, but we know this... morey likes bargains. he wont give the full MLE to someone for one years worth of bench play. i would love if we retained him, but at the right price. 1.8-2.2 mill a year is my max on him for now, until he truly proves his worth.

can u please explain how McGrady is a quitter?? if you were in his shoes will u be able to jump and run???

Every team needs a wild man?? Well the Rockets have that in Dorsey, Ariza ( believe me he has it in him ) and Landry. We don't need a knuckle head wild man who think he is bigger than what he is. You always complain about McGrady being a ball stopper and a chucker well your loved man Wafer is more of a chucker than McGrady and he DOESN'T PASS the ball.

He quit in Orlando (admitted it) he quit in the Golden State game, and JVG yanked him out and sat him the next game as punishment and he quit in Toronto, stood at the half court line and passed the ball around....

Not to mention he quit on rehab last year which probably made his knee worse, and quit on the organization when he announced through his PR blog that he was undergoing surgery, undermining the organization.

And that is not even covering his personal life...etc.....and all the Shawn Kempishness he is undertaking.

The difference is that Wafer is more efficient as a scorer than TMac is, he was a better shooter.....44% overall and 40% from 3pt range...that is pretty darned good, actually it is close to great....

You have to remember that the defenses don't really zone in on Wafer. If Wafer was a starter in this league, and defenses would actually look into him more, he would not be this good.

True, but in his small amount of starts last year he was actually even better.....

Whatever, I think Morey is just trying to let the market set his price and then sign him on the cheap.

    If not....fine.

This was the first year Von Wafer saw significant minutes as a role player, and I'd say he was very effective off of the bench.

The fact is, he wasn't a starter, so you're point is irrelevant.

He was a back-up shooting guard, and he provided three-point touch and explosive athleticism off of the bench. He deserved a chance to continue his development in the system based on his impact during the '08-'09 season, and Morey seemed hesitant to actively pursue the kid.

I would rather have Wafer at $2 million a year than Tmac at $23 million....this is not comparing careers it is comparing current players as assets.

Yeah, I could see that, his expiring contract in a declining Lux Tax cap is very valuable.

Orlando was like 19- whatever. Plz tell me what superstar is still going to give their all knowing that their team is out of it. K.G did it with the Timberwolves. Everyone does it not just McGrady. Why do you think all of a sudden players are labeled out for the season when its like a week or 2 left in the season. come on.

McGrady's knee rehab could be blamed on both sides. The doctors admitted that they brought him back quicker than they should.

As for Wafer. Hahaha plz do not put Wafer and McGrady in the same sentence. Funny how you are so quick to type these stats of how Wafer is a better efficient scorer than McGrady which he probably his but who is the better all around player??

This team so called needs Wafer but where was he when we needed him the most? Playoffs are where legends are born. Last Year Scola stepped up against Utah. He stepped up against the Blazers this year. Also Brooks' game blew up tremendously. What happened with Wafer?? Hmmmm I'll let you think about that. Instead of helping the team when they needed his efficient scoring he was to busing b****ing and moaning to the coach because the coach took him out the game. Hmmm if im not mistaken. Call it what you want but I believe that is kind of like QUITING on the team?? What do you think

    2. Don't be fooled into thinking posts=approval. DD might be one of the more disliked members of the board.

    3. Say what you will about DD, he didn't make it personal or try to one-up you, you just got your e-feelings hurt. Maybe you should grow up.

    4. How old are you? This is not rhetorical, or sarcasm. Age?
