sounds like you have close access to the team. Would like to hear what role you have. Message me if you don't mind please.
Yes, I agree with this, and have said as much, but the issue for me, is that I see him further down the development curve than both Chase and Taylor, and he is still young. In fact, Von to me is much less of a risk than those two because he has actually proven himself in the NBA. I do agree about his price though, and in a down market year, he needs to be realistic in his options. If he leaves for a better deal, I can't blame him, he should do whatever is in his own best interests. I just think that he wants to stay here, and if we can lock him up for a decent number, you do it. DD
See, I don't buy that, I don't think the Rockets have closed the door, I think they are NEGOTIATING his price...... That is the difference here. DD
People talk about his defense, but scola is the 2nd worse defender behind barry.Anytime matt bonner can get by you from the 3pt line for a layup, you're pretty bad. Haven't we seen this movie before? I remember another young sg we just dismissed named azubuike. He left and is a very, very good young player off the bench. If you develop your own players like the lotto pick, azubuike, wafer, or have the ability to get those types early, you don't have to go and get ariza. Oh well, I guess we will see soon enough.
Worrell told me toward the end of the season that the other players called Von "Radio." He also said that the coaching staff had literally given up on teaching Von any plays on offense and had instructed him to just go to the rack or shoot whenever he got the ball. Personally, I love Von's offensive game and I think he can be an asset to an NBA team in spite of his . . . deficiencies. He sure was for the Rockets last year. However, it seems that the front office and coaching staff think his ceiling is limited and when combined with the "hassle factor" of a key rotation player that has to be booted off the court during a playoff game that was still up for grabs, they determined he wasn't worth it. Under previous regimes I would have been more vocal about this departure, but I think Morey, Hinkie, Adelman, et al have earned the benefit of the doubt.
Nah, I just don't appreciate people with nothing to do but come in and snipe and not contribute to the discussion other than pushing their own agenda of DD hatoraide. No worries, I don't sweat them. DD
Fair enough. However it is clear that Wafer is not a priority. Otherwise 1. we would not be offering so little 2. we would not have drafted for his position. Your argument is, because of his youth and athleticism, in addition to what he has shown this year, he should be higher up on the list. My point is, the Rockets know exactly what they are doing. Certainly more than you or I.
Like cherry-picking threads to bump like that Yao thread you bumped to pat yourself on the back? Sorry, but your first response after Budinger was drafted was "Not impressed". Direct quote. Don't back out or flip-flop now, asset manager. Don't say you "like Budinger, like the way he plays" now without admitting, either you're flip-flopping or as usual, make a rash judgment and go on a rampage with it across the forum. Of course ya do... there, there... I didn't mean to get you down. You go manage your assets. It's just that I don't see you harping on all your bad calls, so I had to even things out - you know, pick the ones you don't agree with. Don't know... don't care... see how easy that was? And don't talk about being on, you know..topic, coming from one of the guys that pissed all over any potentially positive TMac comment thread there was. Doesn't it suck when a thread is completely derailed by one post? Yeah. I agree. When you interjected your back-patting comment, it became on-topic. But like I said, carry on with your Vongasm. He's your flavor of the month. Who knows, this time you may be right! Here's winky for ya to make it aaaaall better... Or maybe a -DoD
Not sure why this discussion had to turn into the board verses DaDakota. If Wafer signs a cheap contract then I'll be disappointed we couldn't retain him, but I wouldn't want the organization to hurt their 2010 salary cap flexibility in order to lure him back. Again, without knowing the hard numbers, it's way to early to be arguing over this. Oh, I forgot that it's July. Never mind.
Yeah, I did do that, you know why? Because people hammered an otherwise decent discussion about Yao and whether or not the team should seriously consider moving him. I was trying to make a point about ROCKET fans versus Yao fans and how the team is more important - you know...improve the GARM Fine, right back at ya. DD
So its ok that Von tunes out the coaching staff? That they didnt even want to bother trying to teach him? Wow seriously I would never want a guy like that on my team at all even if he "loves to compete" he is putting himself over the team
Your elitism stinks, Asset Manager! No personal attacks please! Wait... is that how you say it? Help me out...
