Sure, if they can stick in the league and contribute to a team's success which apparently he cannot. He was an 5-8 option for 2 years tops. And in those years he barely made much noise.

If that was the case, we would have never got Von to begin with.

sounds about right... why wouldn't he want to go to a team that doesn't care about defense and doesn't care if you shoot up bad shots

He barely got playing time when he bounced around with all of those teams. When the Rockets gave him a chance, he flourished. He is 23 years old and I think that is plenty of time to improve his D.

These are great comparisions for Wafer. It's up to him to get his head on straight and go to the next level of deserving minutes. As it stands, he has an uphill battle.

    Seriously? LOL!

    Dan Langhi
    Stromile Swift
    Vassilis Spanoulis
    Steve Novak
    JJ Redick
    Bostjan Nachbar
Steve Francis : I could be wrong about this, but I thought you were all for "taking a peak" at him, but now all of a sudden you're saying Morey made a mistake in getting him. I'd have to go back and look.

    This year :

Chase Budinger (who you dismissed as "Not Impressed" as soon as he was drafted and now are starting to ride his nuts after 3 dang summer league games)
Jermaine Taylor (you're down on him, aren't you? I can't keep up...)

Guys, help me out... I know I'm missing somebody. He was on Corey Maggette's jock for a while, but that's gone nowhere, so I can't knock him for that yet.

Your track record is fine? All you do is splatter the board with whatever the hell comes to mind and hope it sticks down the road. lol. It did provide some humor when you bumped up your own thread about trading Yao before he got hurt, though. Hey, look, I don't mind people bumping their own threads and handing out "I told you so's" sometimes when it's deserved, but based upon your track record, it's hysterical when you do it.

We go through this every year where you ride the nuts of some scrub in 500 of the posts in a 600 post thread. Hey, but look... you may actually nail one in Von Wafer. If there's any team where he'll do well, it's a team that can dismiss his lack of defense and encourage him to score. Of course, we now have a 300-400 post thread about something that hasn't even happened and is just a rumor. :D

I'd go back and see how many times you actually did flop with your "asset management skillz", but it's impossible to track you since you flip-flop so much. Hey, maybe we could make a game out of it this year? "Follow the bouncing Dakota". If nothing else, it could provide us peons a way to learn the ways of the master asset manager. :D

    "I'm a peeeeople perssooonnnn, dammit!"

He left for more money and was nearly a 10ppg player in 20 minutes of playing time, let's at least be honest.

    Boki's stats

Add Kirk Hinrich to the list. I see a pattern of lacking defense in all the guys mentioned.

Competitive is one thing, but having a crappy team attitude in the middle of the playoffs is another.

There is a difference between being competitive and bumping chests with the premier player and getting kicked out of a playoff game by a notorious game changing referee and showing up your coach and pouting because you were sucking it up and were pulled from the the middle of a playoff game, then getting sent to the showers by your own coach.

The Von Wafer story must be about more than performance. Likely some personality conflicts with the coach, something. I love what he brings, and on the surface, I would keep him for a reasonable contract. The banishment during the playoffs might be the tip of the iceberg. Actually, I would have played him more for all that Artest was bringing. Ron was largely a "chucker" during the post season.

Well, I'm not going to knock him on Hinrich since Hinrich is remotely legit as a player although he's made the guy out to be the second coming of Oscar Robertson or something...

    but... on with the Vonathon!

Like with all the Magette to SA rumors in the past, DD liked to side with the whole, 'I'll side with Popavich' stance.

The majority here will side with Morey in this case.

    In Morey We Trust!

I think the only thing he is taking personal is Von leaving. I'm not sure who Von's agent is, but damn it DD, I think God made you come out of your mothers womb if to do anything, jaw up the value of Vakeaton Quamar Wafer. He should seriously toss his scrub agent to the side, and pick you up. I mean you can rattle off about this guy through 106 degree weather all dang summer long.

Langhi - was wrong about him
Swift - liked him for the MLE - everyone did....he didn't pan out
VSpan - Bad situation, played out of position - would be great under Adelman
Novak - I never was on his jock....I liked his shooting but please...never a big fan of his
JJ Redick - again, I liked him over Luther Head.....who doesn't?
Boki - spot on about him....5-8th option
Francis- Are you kidding me, I hated his style when he was here, and did not mind a low risk look, SHOCKING that it didn't work out.

But hey, why not pick out others like:

    Yao Ming - Pre draft
Shane Battier - Pre Draft - loved the trade when no one else did
Luis Scola - LOVED him before we even got him.

Anyone can cherry pick players to fit an argument.

I didn't like the draft because I wanted Jefferson in trade, now that the news came out that Yao was out it makes more sense.....and I like Budinger, like the way he plays...Taylor I am not sure of, haven't seen enough, but I like Von better than both.

Yeah 20ppg on 46% shooting, who needs that kind of production?

I nail plenty but you ignore those....and pick ones you don't agree with.

But hey D.o.D, what do you think about the thread topic, you know..Von Wafer, should the team keep him or should they trade him?

On Derrick Rose vs. Michael Beasley:

On why rookies like Spanknoulis should get significant PT

Yeah, I did think Beasley would be better than Rose......even though that is still to be determined, Rose is off to a much better start in his career....

What do you think about Von Sam? This is a Von thread....oh right, you don't post opinions about basketball, you just come in and snipe.

Far be it from you to put yourself out there.

I do think in years like this one where you are building without hope of a championship...like VSPan's rookie year, you should play some younger guys to see whether they are part of the future....

I can't believe it has been 3 years and you still don't comprehend my point about Rafer sucking balls and we needed to find out if VSpan was the answer at the point.

    Dang...dude...seriously?

It seems as if the tension is now building and reality is setting in. I'm going to get off for a bit, before hostility is addressed at me. Good day folks.

I would have loved Von as a bench guy, hate to see him go.
