A player like Von is a mercenary. He does not show loyalty. He got owned so much time in the past that he isn't going to let his shot go this time. If a team is ready to offer a starting job, he will take it, even if its Sacramento... I wish we can keep him and give him more PT because that is definitely what he is trying to get!
Did you really say that? He was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more effective last year on the offensive end! Get that tan back Shane!
After talking to him, I feel as if we would stay even with the playing time. The dude has worked this far to get his time and it has worked and you can tell he is a hard worker. He really seemed to like Houston through comments he made, and dont we still have the other half of the MLE that we didnt give to Landry to give him? I think he deserves that, and if we do offer him that, he will take it especially due to the fact that we are title contenders (with a full healthy team). Yes I said it lol.
I ran into Brooks the other day at The Galleria. I said hey to him and he was real cool. He was at one of those kiosks buying a cell phone cover or something.
Hopefully Morey uses that partial MLE to sign him to a contract that is essentially the same as a rookie contract. Man, he can put together the passing, driving, outside shot, and get some of those midrange ones to drop more frequently...he could be a huge find.
Yeah that's what I was saying. I think there is somewhere around 2 mil left or something from what I understand, I am not totally sure though.
Wow he looks HUGE during gametime his one of the smallest guys on the court. Great pic bro lucky you.
Wafer has to love what he has with the Rockets, but he won't be taking less money to stay, nor should he. The best we can hope for is that he would give the Rockets the chance to match any offer he receives.
I know that PT and $ are the top two priorities of players, but playing for a winning franchise HAS TO figure into the thinking of a free agent on some level. You can ask Ron Artest if he was happy getting a boatload of minutes for a losing team . .
True, but unlike Artest, Wafer isn't a veteran who's gotten multi-million dollar contracts and can now choose to place priority on winning. I'm sure Wafer will want to stay with the Rockets, but only if the deal is there. I get the feeling Wafer will get his share of offers this off-season. The bad economy will have teams looking to avoid spending a lot, so they may want to take a chance on a hungry, young player like Wafer.
Where is this Ragin Cajun resturant? I am from Louisiana and have problems finding a good cajun meal in Houston.
Yeah, in the process of doing that now. A lot of cajun resturants around here, but none have even been close to being right. I'll check this place out.
