I agree. Although I believe Von still has the attitude problem, but we have a mature team to handle that. We can sign him for non-guarantied league minimum. I still believe Chase should get his usual minutes of the bench, but Von will come in handy when one of our wing is in foul trouble or has injury. We also get a extra body for practices. Von may also allow Rockets to send J. Taylor to D-league for some playing time.
The guy wanted to play, and was watching other guys toss up brick after brick and playing more minutes, and he was trying to prove himself for a contract. I understand he made a mistake, but he did not run to the media, he apologized to his coach and they moved on....... He handled it like a man, and teamate should. If the Rockets decided to bring him back, because he has ELITE level athleticism for a 2 guard, and was highly efficient as a scorer, than fine, what would be wrong with that? I for one would love to see him as the 4th wing, and get Trevor and Battier even MORE rest. Imagine Chase on one side, Von on the other, Lowry leading the break and Landry as the secondary break.....oh man....that would be some fun there. DD
He shot at 45%, more than Ariza's and Chase's stats : Check Low basketball IQ same goes out for Ariza : Check bad attitude: Check
I didn't see anyone else post this. Hoopshype says he is going to Memphis. Just a rumor though. http://blogs.hoopshype.com/blogs/sierra/2009/12/11/wafer-memphis-bound/
And if they decided they didn't want him back, that he'd take minutes away from guys they like better, guys who showed more dedication to team and to defense, guys who were easier to coach and less likely to implode in the middle of a playoff series, what would be wrong with that decision? If they decide that they like the chemistry the way it is, how can you fault them?
I totally agree with that too Sam, whatever they decide would be fine with me. Actually, I would rather they bring Mike Harris up, as he is a power wing and it would allow Adelman to invert the offense by posting up with Harris on a smaller guard. I like rosters flexibility.... Regarding Von, whatever they decide is...good with me. DD
Von is just too competitive. I wish him good luck and find another job in the NBA someday if possible.
