I would love to have Von back on the team for the right price. Super Athletic Still very young Very good scorer Prototypical size for a 2 guard And for those that feel he did not fit well on the team last season... did you watch the games? He hustled all the time not some of the time. His motor is always on. Yes he has a scorers mentality and likes to shoot. I want an aggressive 2 guard that can light it up. No he is not great... at all on defense and yes he does have a lack of maturity at times. I am not saying brake the bank for the guy but he would be worth it at the right price. I don't think he has any chemistry issues.
See I would love to have Von back at the minimum price. I never wanted him for the money he was asking for, I knew he was not worth. Now if he is coming back at the minimum, I'm all for signing him because he does provide instant offense off the bench.
That pretty much sums it up for me, I thought he and the Rockets made a good business decision when he signed with Olympiakos..... But if he comes back cheaply...well.....welcome back, IMO. DD
Gotta love DD wanting the black hole on offense that is Von Wafer, yet bashes other ball stoppers because they wouldn't fit in our system and do not play team ball.
The difference is that we can yank Von out of the game if he becomes that black hole. We can cut his ass if he starts having a bad attitude. That's the beauty and flexibility of a minimum contract.
i actually wouldnt mind geting von wafer back. he wuold be perfect especially since we have no SG atm.
Chill the **** out guys. It's getting ridiculous honestly. Von was great off the bench last year. He performed the role asked of him perfectly. He shot the 3 at a high percentage and finished around the basket. He provided instant offense. How could you not want that? Especially at the minimum...
If the Rockets are bringing Von back, then Chase is not going to get his minutes, and what about Tmac?
I'd put Wafer on a different level of failure as VSpan. VSpan at least succeeded in Europe, and he only only failed with one team in the NBA. It is at least plausible that VSpan could succeed in the NBA if he became more mentally tough.
that's his fault in the first place. I know he is a selfish player and a selfish person. He had one...JUST ONE decent year with the Rockets and he think that he deserves a big contract. He expected teams to call him and throw him big bucks just because he came off the bench for the Houston Rockets and score a few buckets. This guy is just an upgraded version of Luther Head. Keep this up Von, your career won't last long. Von Wafer has a horrible basketball IQ, he is selfish with the ball and he hardly passes the ball once he gets it. He is not that great of a scorer but an average. I rather have a one legged Tmac on this team than having a guy like Von Wafer here any day. If you turn down the Rockets offer and wanted more money even though the rockets offered him a reasonable contract, don't bother trying to come back to houston. I lost respect for this guy just because he made a selfish move and I don't like the fact that he think he deserves a lot of money just because he had ONE decent season. Von Wafer, if you want big bucks, I suggest you play in the Nba and play well for at least 3-4 seasons so teams know that you are consistent enough to do well for a few season straight. But if you're getting traded from left to right and happens to get an opportunity here and Rick Adelman gave you a chance to play and you turn down the contract for a bigger one overseas, that is a idiotic move on your part.
If we are going to bring back ball stoppers and potentially mess with the team's chemistry, then I would prefer T-Mac. T-Mac = lower risk , higher reward than than signing Wafer. We already have to pay T-Mac unless we get a trade, and if he plays well, his trade value goes up. Or if he plays like his old self, then even better. Every scenario with T-Mac back works out better than bringing in a player management already knows is a bonehead who clashes with the coach and then have to deal with the drama of any subsequent problems and then questions about cutting him. No thanks.
