Thank you. Von Wafer's collective body of work is not suggestive that he'll maintain his current play. But maybe, just maybe, he's figured the game out enough to become a solid player for years to come. We'll see.

Von Wafer is no where near as talented as JR Smith. Smith could have been a perennial All Star if he was motivated enough. Either way Wafer has talent and hopefully he can continue to improve.

The thing is though we could have have JR Smith instead of Kirk Snyder while NO were moving both of them. I still can't understand to this day why we opted for Snyder instead of JR Smith. I know he's a headcase at times but his talent is unquestionable.

I was watching the Nuggets game last night and I was thinking that theyre very similar players. I'm just glad that he has his attitude and not JR's. But yeah he's just Von Wafer.

JR smith goes for the younger ladies... is he not married?

I go to UT and my friends ex (who is POM squad for UT) was at the UT vs Colorado football game in Colorado awhile back and supposedly, JR smith saw her and gave out his number and offered to give her a ride. creep.

Von Wafer = Skinny Bonzi Wells with less weight, more speed, more accuracy, more hops, more stylish hair and Bonzi's favourite food.

Me= Von Wafer but 5 inches shorter, 25 pounds ligther, lighter skin, smaller eyes and less hops. See how ridiculous that sounds? Stop with the comparisons guys.

Von isn't a thug or a ball hog. I would say Von is a better athlete but not by much. He certainly likes to slash more the JR. Smith, however. Smith is certainly more capable of putting up huge games but he will also shoot you right out of a game.

I'll take Von any day of the week for chemistry reasons but I do think the two players' skills sets/athleticism are very, very close.

Also, I think Von is going to become a decent to good defender fairly quickly. I think as he grows more confident in his offensive game at the NBA level he will seek to refine his other skills. He seems to have that drive. He looks like he may become a pretty good passer to. He has show flashes.

Also, as someone has already mentioned, I have thought repeatedly that he looks like a young Ray Allen. I know he will not become near the player Ray Allen is but his shot, size and athleticism (Ray used to be a hell of a slasher/finisher) remind me of a young Ray.

What are you guys smokin'? A young Ray Allen???? A young Ray Allen was a multiple All-Star.

Von Wafer has played well recently, but his game still needs improvement. He shoots pretty well, but I have yet to see him create his own shot (bank shots, fadeaways, off crossovers, pullup). All of which JR Smith can do. Smith is much more talented than Wafer. Just because he shoots a less % from 3 doesn't mean Von Wafer is a better 3pt shooter. You haven't accounted for the number of 3s taken, difficulty of the 3, how many games played, etc etc.

I could have a 90% 3PT percentage if I just came into the game for 10-15 minutes and shot 2 attempts per game.

I don't see why people put so much precedence on FG%. Most players shoot around 40-50% with the medium being close to 45. There's not much difference.. unless you're over and under that range. This is like one of those arguments that says "Oh LeBron is a better "shooter" than T-Mac because he shoots 45+% and T-Wack shoots 37%". That's stupid.. LeBron takes it to the whole more so you can't say his jumpshot is better... unless you refer to "shooting" as any type of shot.

You know what all this Von talk makes me happy about?

It makes me happy that Uncle Drayton is not the Rockets' owner, because if he was, then Von would be released at the end of the season, and lighting it up for someone else next year :D

Well, i said that because in the brawl, Mardy Collins had already slammed him to the ground by tackling him around his neck and Nate Robinson slapped him in his face before he threw a single punch. And it was just a stupid driving mistake to run a red light (maybe a stop sign) but plenty of people have done it, it just happened to be a deadly mistake for his friend. These are things that i think could happen to good people.

Then he poured champagne on a girl in a club, that was definitely wrong but he said he was drunk and didn't remember much afterwards. Maybe he has a drinking problem. This is the one thing I've ever heard that seemed like it showed poor character (that's why i asked 'was i missing something'). I think some good people can make mistakes.

The term 'thug' seems to mean VERY different things to different people. Maybe it's just a difference in the way people think.

But i will agree, i've met him, he doesn't seem like he's very bright (but is that out of the ordinary in pro sports?)

He def. has the potential to be a great NBA player, I dont see him being a star or even all star caliber, unless he just goes off like this for the rest of the season, but remember, AB was off to that incredible start and ppl were saying he was the next Chris Paul! Now he's came back down to earth and no one's talking about him anymore...he will have up and downs i'm sure and come back down to earth, but i believe he will be a very solid role player that can put up numbers when we need him to.
