DD, i agree with all of your ideas, trades, suggestions, but the one thing i just cant grasp is why you think ariza should even play at all while morey spent good money on JT who just rots on the bench because Rick promised ariza minutes. Guarentee if Ariza wasnt on team JT would be playing and possibly starting.
Brian, Im interested in what you have to say about this topic: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=180962 , after reading some of your posts.
I know this thread is on the older side, but I was on ESPN earlier and on the Rockets page under injuries, it had Von listed as DTD, is this maybe from last season, or did they assume he's still on the team. I found this very odd.
Saw the same yesterday but if you check our roster he's not listed. Just a mistake on there part. Also says Memphis passed on signing Wafer.
Interesting I actually wouldn't mind having him back, but he has to re-earn his playing time back IMO..... --RB
His health status remains dubious. A couple of good workouts after a disc injury doesn't mean much. I still won't mind if DM signs him to a 10 day contract,he has nothing to lose.
Great news! I love Von. Signing Von means most likely Ariza will lose minutes, everyone should be in favor of this........EVERYONE!
Why not? He's awesome! He's the kind of excitement that puts butts in the seats and helps a team needing some offensive spark.
If he's healthy he signs with someone immediately. If he signs with Rox then Bud's minutes go. Mebbe ok, but he's likely gone next year and development time for Bud is, too. If VW is getting healthy then he is a fine addition for some team 2/19-3/1.
What you described to me is a nice scenario for the Rockets If the Rockets like their playoff chances THIS YEAR - A 1/3 season bare MINIMUM money hired gun, who's already had experience and success on the team before, at a need position, who gives back development to the young guy after only after a couple months. Thats as good a stopgap as you can get for so cheap. Who says Wafer even has to play at all? He could just be a stretch run insurance policy. If the difference between making or missing the playoffs is a measly 100K and 2 months rookie development, Rockets only care about getting extra lottery balls.
