Well you finally got something right... Facts and points? showing an ESPN page of guys that picked the rockets to do average is not backing your point or facts... SO, can you or can you not factually prove the Rockets would be, what was it you said? Ahhh yes, all "Bottom Barrel" of the league... http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ba...10-NBA-Preview-Houston-Rockets?urn=nba,195307 has then with a losing record, but doesn't bury them and says they could end up proving people wrong... http://www.thedreamshake.com/2009/10/7/1052101/the-dream-shakes-2009-2010-houston?ref=yahoo this one has them even, and say it could be higher or lower, but doesn't say they absolutely will suck... http://ballerblogger.com/2009/10/07/season-preview-houston-rockets-2/ right about 500, and says the team is interesting and could be better... http://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2009/9/9/1022003/around-the-association-the-houston this guy is negative towards the Rockets and still expects 43 wins...lmao http://www.betinf.com/prev_nba.htm worldwide sports betting, and they picked the Rockets to win second place for this season http://www.scoresreport.com/2009/10/16/2009-nba-preview-southwest-division/ says they aren't great but could make the playoffs and compete night in and night out http://deedsy404.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6173035/17934231 expects the rockets to go 42-42 Now... Are any of those stating the Rockets are gonna Bottom barrel? NO, Are they saying they are gonna make the playoffs for sure? NO...Just all basically saying the Rockets, have shown they can win games without Yao or TMAC and still be a decent team, not a lottery bound chump. BUT, then again your right remember? Absolutely NO ONE ON THE PLANET was thinking the rockets would play decent and win games, and maybe or maybe not make the playoffs... NO, they all follow your FACTUAL words of wisdom... Except... FACTS are undeniable...and your OPINION is not... So you're the mainstream commercial appeal regulator of the board heh? Next time try the Jonas Bros or Brittney Spears... For the love of all things pure and holy, if your gonna quote someone for intelligence and respect, make sure it isn't a commercial rapper who likes to bling bling. It must suck to be a sheep... lmao
Well when I made it, there was a possibility....and it was a much different thread than what it has morphed into now. Now, I would like it locked like I would bet most everyone else. DD
Update on Von: http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2010/jan/21/postgame-hornets-113-grizzlies-111/ -- The Griz have also revisited the possibility of acquiring free-agent guard Von Wafer. Memphis passed on signing Wafer Dec. 22 after he failed a physical. Since then, Wafer has been rehabilitating a back injury in Shreveport, La. Griz general manager Chris Wallace confirmed last week that he's monitored Wafer's progress. The Griz are expected to conduct a workout with Wafer soon. Wafer last played in the NBA with the Rockets during the 2008-09 season, when he averaged 9.7 points on 44.7-percent shooting.
Link to ESPN Insider The Memphis Grizzlies took a second look at Von Wafer, but have decided to pass on the shooting guard. The team now will focus on potential deals as the trade deadline gets closer. The Grizzlies have over $3 million in cap room, three probable first-round picks in the 2010 NBA draft and they have an open roster spot. Miami's Dorell Wright and Utah's Ronnie Brewer have been linked with the Grizzlies ------------------------------------------------------------ They are playing well, and don't really need him as badly as the Rockets do. If he is healthy, the team should seriously look at him. DD
It did not say he failed a physical, but that they passed....I think they are playing well and have some other irons in the fire and don't really need him. The Rockets however, really DO need him, unless they are actually able to jettison the big kahuna of a contract. DD
Almost ironic that he's rehabbing the back in a city equadistant from Houston and Memphis. Although he's probably from there or something like that. Well, Memphis might have something else going on. For that matter, maybe we do, too. But since nothing is imminent---three more weeks and then some until the trade deadline---it'd be nice to have someone on the team who can actually, you know, like, score?
If we do sign Von and give him significant playing time, you do realize that means less minutes for Mr. Chase, right?
Nope, it means less for Trevor and Shane..... But I don't mind a meritocracy.....whomever is playing well plays..... DD
I'm for that, reduce their minutes Trevor's by 12 and Battier's by 8 and you can get Von Hawk that playing time...at least he was efficient when he was here.
LOL @ this thread. Von has problems and if you follow his twitter you get a peek inside. I hope he really works hard trying to comeback into the league.
He is just living his life the way he wants to so I have no problem with what he says on his Twitter. He looks healthy since Memphis took a second look at him. They wouldn't have brought him in if he was still injured. So if we aren't targeting a SG to trade for T-Mac look for Von to sign with us soon. Can't wait!!!
The only 'topic' I am more tired of seeing than the Tracy trade rumors is anything regarding Von. Can't we just move on? People seem to think he's the black Jesus and will be our savior.
