Agreed, I can't recall many thinking that he was a full MLE player, I was on board with a top end of between $2 and $3 million..... I am glad he got a deal......this might be his last shot though. DD
Great for Von. So much for people thinking he had "superstar potential", when he was simply a poor man's JR Smith...
I hope he gains maturity and succeeds too. If he blows it this time,he may never get another chance in the NBA.
I'm glad that he got another shot. Even when he got upset with Adelman, I thought that it just showed that he cared a lot about winning that game. I love Von's fire and think that he was a bigger part of what made that team go than what people give him credit for. I know that Miami got the big three, but I honestly think that Boston can knock them out this year.
I'm happy to hear it. I always enjoyed watching Von play for the Rocks, at least until he went off the deep end during the playoffs, and I'm glad the Celtics are giving him another shot at staying in the league. What surprises me more than Wafer getting signed by Boston for instant offense off the bench, a role he's ideally suited for, is that they took a flyer on his back. It'd be nice to know if that contract is fully guaranteed or not. Another way to look at this, putting aside his back problems, is that a one year deal gives him a chance to prove himself and then get a better deal after only one season. I wish him luck.
Von tweeted this about the signing: "Thank u god thank u so so so so much ur so good to me yes thank u mr ainge thank u coach rivers thank u thank u thank thank u all" "I'm so greatful god has thought me alot and I was payin attention I'm so so so happy rt now I'm so thankful y'all jus don't understand" It's good to hear he is grateful for this opportunity, I hope he has a great year next season.
tony allen was a slasher with no shot but great defense wafer can slash and shoot but has poor defense i wonder who they will get to play lock down defense then
lol wat? That didn't show Von wanted to win the game. That showed how selfish Von is. You're fooling yourself if you believe any differently. Every game to Von was a showcase to the league for a long-term contract. Karma bit him in the ass when he was failing physicals left & right. You'd be surprised by how many NBA players are in that same boat. Von just happened to be more emotional about it. He could give a rat's ass if the Rockets win or lose, he just wants his production noticed.
WOW, wth didnt the Rockets sign him for this cheap! I thought he was pretty amazing when he was here but his attitude with Aldeman got him in trouble.
He blew it twice. The first time was his fault, 2nd time was his back. There's usually no third time. Except for Mike Harris...
