that's the baby version of the voltron lion. the "real" toy was huge and the cockpits could open for the little characters, a bit bigger then g.i. joes, to fit in. i had the vehicle version, but i never knew it was a voltron till this thread. i thought it was a weird transformer. the only voltron to me will be the lions.
i had both voltron toys. the vehicle version was just awesome. the lions one was disappointing to say the least. the lion voltron series was the sequel to the vehicle voltron series which itself was a sequel to the lesser known 'voltus 5(?)'.
you are of course right but I mean the Live action Movie will look like the Power Rangers Movies Rocket River
$80?!?!?! that's like $120 these days. did it fetch a bottle of beer for you too b/c that's alot of moolah for just a toy like that.
Hmmm, yeah that sucks, I looked at the link, nothing but question marks. Hopefully it'd come out sometime, or soon.
Pharrell Williams To Produce "Voltron" Movie Soundtrack By Clover Hope Date: 7/26/2005 1:58 am Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams has signed on to score and produce the soundtrack for the upcoming film Voltron: Defender of the Universe, based on the popular 1980s cartoon. Debuting in 1984, the television series “Voltron” coincided with the prevalent Transformers toys and both grew to epidemic proportions. Like the TV series, the plot of the upcoming movie is based on five rebel pilots who trek to Planet Arus to discover how to work the massive machine fighter known as Voltron, which is a combination of five smaller robots. After the evil Drule Empire conquers the universe, Voltron must defeat the bad guys and save the world. The big-budget film will be produced by Mark Gordon, producer of Saving Private Ryan and The Day After Tomorrow. Mark Costa and Ford Oelman of New Line Cinema will serve as executive producers. Ironically, another film titled Transformers is also in the works by DreamWorks Pictures, according to Hollywood Reporter. http://allhiphop.com/hiphopnews/?ID=4650
How is this ironic? Maybe he doesn't realize it's a movie about THE Transformers that came out in the 80s along with Voltron.
my parents bought this for me when i was real young, the big, kickass one. they hid it from me (it was a surprise present) but i found it somehow. they walked in when i was opening the box, took it from me, and returned it. i was devastated. pretty sure i cryed for several hours.
I'm kind of torn with the two Voltrons....the Cars, planes and whatever else Voltron had better story lines, but the the one with the Lions was just bad as hell.
http://www.madman.com.au/voltron/index2.html This site sells the episodes on DVD, but I heard you gotta have a DVD player that reads the right "region", or something like that, I don't know.
