i remember a thread here in the past about cars in general. there was one post that showed what cars were most reliable. as far as one year, three years, and five years. anyways i have a friend of mine that is thinking of getting a volkswagon. and i know how many problems that volkswagons have. so i wanted her to read that thread. does anyone remember what thread that was? thanks
yeah and with as many posts as i have i really need to. money has been a big problem with me the last few years but i will eventually no doubt.
I have lots of friends who have bought various VW models, and all of them have had problems with them. VW and Jaguar are two car makes I would never purchase, strictly due to complaints about the cars from friends who have owned them.
VW made good cars in the American market before they moved all the plants to Mexico. ( sorry Swoly ) The European produced VW's are much more reliable
replacement killer, you sure do like to generalize alot...(sony fanboy) i've had two VW's, one golf and one GTI and I've had zero absolute problems with them. too bad a few lemons (really bad) has given vw a bad rep
Wow...this board sure has alot of losers who think they know it all. You want to argue to the end of the world regardless of the facts presented to you. I guess it doesn't matter what age you get, there will be stubborn/ignorant people who will live in their own bubble and refuse to see the truth. Here's some reality for you. J&D ranks VW as one of the worst vehicles with the most problems on a consistant yearly basis. I guess they just pulled that one out of their butts because their (Sony Fanboys) and hate VW and Microsoft with a passion. I think it was because VW was working with MS to implement a virtual drive system that would let you drive hands free. In the end, VW chose not to use this new technology because they felt the extra $100-$200 would cost the consumers too much. As far as real world experience, I have a few cousins who own VW products. Two hate it and one think its ok. They ALL have problems with their VW. Just because a few people have little or no problems (consider yourself lucky btw) doesn't mean every VW is reliable. VW is no Toyota or Honda when it comes to reliability. I was considering a VW at one point of my life, until I went to the dealership. A brand new VW with less than 100 miles on the odo had to be taken back to the shop because one of the headlights didnt work. I asked the tech if that was a common problem and he says it happens. Chances are, If you own a VW, its going to be in the shop or has been to the shop many times or your just a bad liar.
and the xbox 360 has weak graphics.. first you dont' have a 360 and talk it down, and the ps3 up. OH Wait I'm sorry I forgot you you have a ps3. second, you don't have a vw, but "you know all these people " that do. speak from your own experiences and quit making judgements via other peoples opinion... Like I've said before. I've owned two VW's and I've had zero problems. (call it lucky call it whatever you want) I'm speaking from my own PERSONAL OWNERSHIP experience with the vehicle. Do you have any ownership experience or do you just dig up articles here and there to downplay anything you dislike? now, go make another crappy b-movie
Aren't Audis really VW's in disguise? Glad I didn't buy that A6 and went for the Lexus GS300 instead.
Audi is owned by VW. Another poster put it best. The German made VW are ok/good, its the ones made in Mexico that have alot of problems. Since the majority of VW purchased are the lower lines made in Mexico....hence why VW's have a bad rep. The R32 on the other hand is a nice VW, except that it lacks power for a vehicle that cost $30k+. Weird, I dont see the R32 listed for sale on Edmunds anymore edit: lets see if this works.
THe R32 which may be the R36 GTI V is coming out next year. Too bad they're only giving north american 5000 units. Their gonna be price gouging bad... And it doesn't lack power. If you've ever driven a R32, you know that it hauls ass in circles.
The Golf and GTI are fun cars to mod. So are the Jettas as well. I'm not talking huge Tanabe wings, but more of a crisp European look mod. Many of these cars I've seen around town look sweet. Futhermore, driving my bro's Jetta has been the most fun I've had driving a standad passenger vehicle.
Volkswagens are absolute pieces of crap. I drive one because its too big of a piece to let my wife drive with my child. The numbers don't lie. One of the worse in reliabilty (including Audi), and way too expensive.
