Men One-A-Day Advanced multi-vitamin gave me bad stomach aches, and I always took it with food and water. I've tried other multi-vitamins and this is the only to give me a nasty gut rot. What a waste of money for me
Remember xero, Green Vibrance is a green foods supplement, not a vitamin. It's as if you're having you're 4-5 servings of actual green leafy vegetables, which the body actually absorbs compared to a multivitamin. (plus they add in all the other good stuff, including 18 million probiotics per serving).
I used to go through some phases of no vitamins to 1 multivitamin + 3-4 specific vitamins (vitamin D, potassium, etc.). Didn't feel any changes either way (maybe some "placebo" effect from time to time...surprise surprise, paying money for something I think works makes me feel better). Not that long ago, I actually started checking out research, and yeah, I'm not quite convinced multivitamins are really worth it (strictly talking multivitamins, some vitamins might be good for specific conditions). I'm still taking one, but just because I was too lazy to schedule a doctor's appointment and/or do some extra research. I started a vegetarian diet at the beginning of the year, so I'm most likely missing out on some vitamins (pretty sure my multivitamin has a few of them at least). I'll be going to the doctor soon though, so I'll probably ditch the multivitamin and go with what my doctor recommends (presumably no vitamins necessary, or maybe a couple to make up for the whole "no meat" thing). Some random readings I checked out (I follow these blogs for general medical stuff anyway...not a doctor, but the authors are): http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/index.php/another-negative-study-of-vitamins/ http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/index.php/should-i-take-a-multivitamin/ Novella brings up a good point about the benefits of fruits and vegetables (i.e., people who eat more fruits and vegetables are "healthier"). Some may assume it is the vitamins in them that bring the health benefits, so taking supplements with those same vitamins should also help, right? Not necessarily. It may be that eating more fruits and vegetables prevents you from eating more "bad" stuff. Taking a vitamin won't fix the problem of eating too much "bad" stuff, but eating more fruits and vegetables might, regardless of what vitamins you might get from them. I wonder if people maybe think their diet is worse than it really is. Think we can all eat better, but not sure how common it is for people to have major deficiencies in their diet, where a multivitamin would be necessary. Especially given how many foods are fortified with extra vitamins as it is (cereal, bread, milk, etc.). I'd think this is more of an issue in poorer countries, where a variety of nutritious food isn't easily available.
Controlled Labs Orange Triad. Easier to swallow then Animal Pak and helps with joint pain also. I take these when I'm tired and they give me a little boost.
