I think about this every time I see someone getting the cops called on them for letting their 8yr old play in the front yard. Its safer to be a kid outside alone today than it was 30yrs ago when we used to play 2 blocks away at 6yrs old. People are so scared of the world because they see every negative thing on the news and social media and assume its happening more often..when the fact is that its happening less often. John Stossell did a great special on this back in the late 90's called "Are we scaring ourselves to death"
